Hi r/PHBoardGames!
My wife and I recently opened Meeple Grounds, a small Family owned and family run board game cafe here in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Pareho kaming medyo introvert, and honestly, nagsimula lang talaga to sa mga bagay na gusto na namin even before the cafe.. board games, coffee, and having a space where people can just sit down, disconnect for a bit, and enjoy each other’s company.

Over time, lumaki nang lumaki yung board game collection namin, and ngayon we wanted to share it with people. Kasi alam din namin yung feeling na walang kalaro 😅

My wife handles most of the bar, and what started as a home coffee hobby somehow turned into a full specialty coffee setup. 😅

Small team of four lang kami, so marami pa rin kaming natututunan. We’re still adding games, improving the space, and figuring things out as we go.

Curious din kami sa suggestions niyo anong board game yung tingin niyo dapat meron sa library namin?

Nagpi-print lang dapat ako ng coffee tools, pero somehow nagkaroon ako ng tiny origami dripper na nakatambay sa grinder.
Walang silbi sa workflow…

There was a time when I thought coffee was something you could eventually master.

Learn the basics. Buy better gear. Dial in the recipe. Repeat.

I thought there would come a point where I’d finally understand it.

The more I learned, the more I realized how little I knew.

A different bean can change everything. A tiny change in grind size can ruin or save a cup. Water that tasted fine yesterday suddenly isn’t right today. People spend years studying roasting, extraction, processing, and sensory science, yet they still keep learning.

It reminds me that some things are too deep to ever fully understand. You don’t reach the end. You just keep discovering more.

I think that’s what keeps me coming back every morning.

Coffee stopped being just a drink a long time ago. It became a lesson in humility.

The deeper you go, the more you realize how little you know.

And maybe that’s the point.

For the past few months, I've interacted with coffee enthusiasts and coffee shop owners through coffee expo and mafbex. Visited specialty coffee shops and heard about their stories. One thing was common from all of them.

It was passion. I love it how their tone changes when they talk about coffee. I love how they dedicated their lives around it.

Finally got to try Infusions Quarters

Tried their Vietnam Lam Dong pourover and sobrang na-enjoy ko siya. Very chocolatey and nutty yung cup, may notes ng cocoa at dark chocolate na bagay sa preference ko. Hindi siya loud or super fruity, comforting and easy to drink.

Nag-order din ako ng cappuccino and ang sarap din. Creamy yung milk texture, balanced yung espresso, tapos ang ganda pa ng swan latte art. Actually the first one was rejected by the owner(I think he's the owner) and he made this himself. I think he was training OJT's at the time. Grabe yung quality control.

Ang gusto ko rin sa place is hindi siya intimidating. Chill lang yung vibe, tapos makikita mong passionate yung team sa coffee.

Definitely babalikan ko para matry pa ibang beans nila. If you’re around Pampanga and mahilig ka sa specialty coffee, I’d say this place is worth checking out.

Magluluto lang sana ako ng itlog tapos pagbasag ko… boom. Double yolk.
Tapos yung pangalawa… double yolk ulit.
Tapos yung pangatlo… DOUBLE YOLK DIN 😭

Parang naubos ko yata luck ko for this year hahaha.
May pamahiin ba dito sa Pinas pag puro double yolk? O rare lang talaga siya nang sobra?

No regrets. Only espresso

Finally finished building my dream coffee corner after obsessing over every little detail for months.
Still getting humbled daily by puck prep, channeling, and milk steaming… but at least the machine looks good while I struggle.
