not sure what this is

Hi everyone! I just noticed this on my Hoya SMS and I’m not sure what it is. I keep this one outside under a shade cloth with my other Hoyas that are thriving but I just repotted it from moss to an airy mix. Not sure if it’s due to watering or sun scorched? Any thoughts? Thank you

French Thyme and Mexican Oregano — questions

Hi everyone! I’ve had pretty good success transplanting these herbs into a 5 gallon grow bag. They immediately started to grow and it left me with some questions.

I harvested a couple of sprigs from each plant but I’m wondering if I need them to get woodier for me to tie and hang dry them. Also my French thyme already had flowers and the rest is still blooming should I not harvest when it’s blooming or is it okay? For each plant I only got a couple but how big of a chop can I do? And I also wonder if 5 gallons would be enough I planted some alyssums that have been growing so much too!

I’m doing research on what I can use these herbs for both cooking and herbalism because really I just kinda wanted to experiment with them and to my surprise it’s going great 😅

I’m in SoCal (zone 9-10 I believe)

Do I prune the very bottom leaves?

Hello! Last year I grew jalapeños and I remember seeing a lot about pruning for a bushier top and sturdy stem but this year I got this Aji Charapita and I’m not sure if the same logic applies. Should I keep the bottom of the stem bare and prune off all these little offshoots?

Can I make a pond out of this?

I was at the nursery and they have these huge beautiful pots but I was wondering how I could waterproof it to have it a pond with some little guppies or mosquito fish?

variegated ficus benjamina is dropping leaves 😓

Hi guys! Would love to hear any thoughts on what could be affecting my ficus tree. I got her about a year ago and everything has been fine until now. I’m noticing more and more yellow leaves and it makes me sad because she’s so beautiful. The only “different” thing I did was water with fertilizer but I water all my plants with fertilizers and it didn’t seem to affect anything else. This was also a couple weeks ago and I’m still noticing yellowing.

I keep her outdoors where she only gets a couple hours of direct morning sun (like 2-3) and most of the time she’s in the shade and very bright. I’ve kept her here since I got her. I haven’t repotted her either. She’s still in her original container and soil.

Hi everyone! I’m about to finish my journal and I’m hoping you guys have some recommendations for my next one. The one I’m using is from Papyrus that I got at Marshalls. I tried searching for it again but it doesn’t seem to be available anymore.

I really enjoyed my journal but there are other specific features I’m hoping to find.

- I want a leather (fake or real) bound journal. I haven’t jumped on the refillable journal hype. I’m also open to like a fabric like cover. I like the texture feeling of leather and fabric.

- soft cover (meaning no hardcover journals).

- paper a little thic since I write with a fountain pen. I’d like a journal with good fountain pen paper

- I have pretty small handwriting so ideally I’d like either a lined or graphed paper that’s small

- a bookmark although it’s not a dealbreaker. I can always make one

- and one thing I wish my journal had was no margins

If you have any recommendations I would appreciate it a ton. Thank youuu

Hey everyone, thank you in advance for the help! I'm still organizing my thoughts, but I'll be as clear as possible.

My dad has a small printing business that he's been running for over 20+ years. He's not the most tech-savvy, so he's gotten by without a website or any advertisement. Most of his clients find him locally or through word of mouth. He has an Instagram for the business, but it's intermingled with his personal posts, too. Basically, there's no structure to his business.

He's not the best at managing the finances either. From what I can tell, he's living paycheck to paycheck, and sometimes he's struggling to pay the shop's rent. But then he has great moments, like when we get huge orders from event organizers.

I went to school for marketing, and I've been building my career. I'm now at a point where I'm doing well for myself, and I want to start helping my dad out with the shop.

I just don't know where to start.

Just brainstorming off the top of my head, I want to get him set up with a website and some business email addresses to keep things more professional. Not sure how this will work since he's been using the same Outlook email for his business forever. Then, I want to start tapping into our network. Get in contact with our past big clients for future projects or referrals. I actually already did this with someone we used to work with, but unfortunately, Nike (yup, the shoe company) forced them to follow a vendor list, even though they enjoyed my dad's work. I also want to run some advertisements and just really get his marketing going. I know I'll do well in this part.

But where I struggle is understanding how to take over the finances and the nitty-gritty of tracking our expenses. I admire my dad for working on his own for this long, but things are messy.

In my dad's ideal world, he would just focus on production (his craft), and I would handle everything else. I'm just overwhelmed with how to get started. I know I can do a good job with the marketing and sales side, but it's the 'running a business' part that I don't think I'm fully equipped for.

Any suggestions?
