Tapping debit card
Ughhhh why doesn't my debit card work when tapping on busses? It happens 30% of the time but thats still enough to be super annoying and embarrassing. Ive talked to the bank and they said it was an issue on translinks side and I am inclined to believe bc i see other people having the same issue.
This morning on my way to work I needed to take a bus to the train station, my card was declined (i got paid yesterday) I tried twice more and was declined twice more, thankfully the driver let me on with an eye roll and an annoyed sigh, the two people after me where also using debit cards and having the same issue. When i got to the train station and tapped the same card it worked like normal.
Ive only ever had it happen on busses.
It's super embarrassing to have your card declined multiple times with an angry beep and everyone on the bus looking at you🙃
DONT KISS A BABY
Here's a little psa on why you shouldn't kiss someone else's baby/kid.
*I am canadian and as such have used canadian statistics and sources
1.) It's f*cking weird. I dont care if people did it when you had kids or when you were a kid. You wouldn't walk up to a friend or stranger and kiss them without asking so dont do it to a baby. Please give my child the same respect you give everyone else and dont randomly kiss her.
2.) Herpes.
Canadian studies have estimated that up
to 89% of Canadians have been exposed to herpes simplex
type 1 (HSV-1)"
"The type of contact that usually transmits
herpes involves skin rubbing on skin, like
kissing"
you can get BOTH hsv1 and hsv2 on your genitals, mouth, in your eyes,on your fingers or anywhere with broken skin that is exposed to herpes.
Most people with herpes are asymptomatic and may not even know they have it but that doesnt mean they cant pass it on to other people through asymptomatic shedding.
All info and quotes provided are from the BCCDC https://www.bccdc.ca/resource-gallery/Documents/Educational%20Materials/STI/Herpes%20Patient%20Guide.pdf
DONT GIVE MY BABY HERPES.
3.) There are many other diseases besides herpes you could pass on to a baby by kissing them. Meningitis, measles, mononucleosis, SARS, mumps, and the list goes on.
It's simple, dont expose my child to potential life altering and life threatening diseases. Just because you dont fell sick doesn't mean you aren't contagious.
4.) According to the RCMP "Sexual assault is any non-consensual activity that interferes with a person’s sexual integrity. It can include forced unwanted kissing." Children cannot give consent.
Kissing someones elses child fits the definition of sexual assault.

5.) ITS F*CKING WEIRD!
If this post makes you mad ask yourself why. Why do you feel entitled to kiss someone without asking?
Why do you feel its ok to kiss someone who cannot consent?
Why do you feel that just because you are kissing a baby its not assault?
Why do you feel you know better than Dr's, law enforcement, the government of Canada, and the child's parents?
Why is you getting to kiss a baby more important than that baby health, safety, and future?
Why are you being so selfish.
I dont care what people did back in the day.
It's 2026 we know better.
Lost keys
I'm pretty sure I lost them at the Queen's Park baseball stadium on Canada day.
There are 5 keys; 2 nickel, 2 brass, and 1 Ford car key, black plastic bow (the handle part of the key). The key ring has a cut-corner-rectangular gold libra charm.
Please reach out if you've found them, I'd like to get into my car sometime soon. 😅
"Wow youve bounced back"
I just got back from maternity leave, i was gone for 11 months (i left at 8 months pregnant, so im now 7 months post partum)
And it really bothers me when people say thinks like "wow you bounced back" or "i knew your body would go right back to normal"
I know they are meant to be compliments but it honestly kinda feels like slap in the face.
I did not bounce back.
My mind didnt bounce back i had severe postpartum depression and anxiety, I hardly slept because of the fear of something bad happening.
My body didn't bounce back, I was 25lbs overweight I got winded walking up stairs and my abs were so weak that I needed assistance standing up from a chair.
I didn't bounce back.
I worked really really hard to feel like me again, to feel like my body and my mind were my own.
I went to therapy regularly, I worked out 6 days a week for 3 months, I started eating home cooked balanced meals, I started reading again, I have an amazing partner and friends who forced me out of the house without the baby.
I didn't bounce back, I forced myself back.
Posting for my husband.
My husband is 5'9 136lb and has been trying to put on weight basically since we met (5 years)
Goal weight is 155-160
The main problem is my husband adhd and often forgets to eat or just isn't hungry at all.
We're looking for some low effort high calorie foods/snacks and any other advice on gaining weight
Context- I rent an apartment from the 60s and the units in the building has not been well maintained (dont even get me started on the balcony) the bathroom doesn't have a window and isn't near a room that does, it only has a heat light and a vent which I do clean.
And before you ask the landlord wont fix it.
So here are the problems
•grout and calk in the shower is crumbling away
•the walls are peeling
▪︎cracks in the wall by the doorframe and shower head *we live on a hill in a place with quite a few earthquakes
•bathtub enamel gone
•bath faucet detaching/calking detaching
I want to fix these and be proud of my bathroom and have a nice place to relax and take a bath.
The cracks and paint worry me the most bc im scared about mold happening.
