What movie left you in stunned, dead silence?

For me it was Tomorrowland starring George Clooney. I didn’t say a damn word after that film. I was asleep by act 2 and didn’t wake up until the next day.

Witcher Season 1 as a 3 Hour Movie in Chronological Order (8 Hours -> 3 Hours)

The new chronology for the film is:

  • S1.E5 | Bottled Appetites (A plot only, as in no Ciri)
  • Small animated flashback from Witcher: Sirens of the Deep
  • S1.E4 | Of Banquets, Bastards and Burials (A plot only)
  • S1.E6 | Rare species (A plot only)
  • S1.E7 | Before the Fall (B plot only, as in only Geralt and Ciri)
  • S1.E1 | The End's Beginning (B plot only, as in only Ciri) Episode 7 and 1 are interspliced chronologically
  • S1.E8 | Much More (Only Geralt and Ciri)

The animated scene really sticks out because... well, it's animated. And it's Doug Cockle as Geralt, video game Geralt. So just skip it if you find it awkward, but I put it there because it does add a lot and ties these episodes together very well; providing missing context.

Fallout Season 1 Edited into a 3 Hour movie (8 Hours -> 3 Hours)

Surprisingly, Maximus has become our protagonist, the best to tie the stories together. It starts with Lucy before introducing Maximus, and the edit also includes Maximus' big flashback scene from Season 2 episode 2 placed accordingly. We see some Lucy and Ghoul scenes that are important to understanding later plot elements, but for the most part, we follow the path of a Brotherhood of Steel feature film, an action comedy.

No Country for Old Men edited into 3 different films. One follows only Llewelyn Moss, One follows only Anton Chigurh and one follows the Investigators

This edit focuses on the the three incredible perspectives we get in the film: No Country for Old Men. In each edit, we will see the events of the film through ONLY one perspective's eyes. The story, themes, and how you piece together events, is a brand new watch.

This experience is very different (and very cool!) to seeing the film intercut in its entirety. The themes and pacing of information is entirely different.

I'm currently doing the same concept for Blade Runner, and am looking into The Last Duel, Dunkirk, and Knives Out wondering about the same idea.

If anyone has good film picks for splitting the perspectives, I'd love to hear them!

DM me for the link to these 3 edits. I didn't just slap them together, I used a lot of clever editing to edit around things. Like having Anton's scenes still play their audio (edited to sound like its outside) over Llewelyn's scenes, both keeping it to Llewelyn's perspective but also still keeping the story and plot that was only in Anton's scene.

There are 2 weird details: #1, I unfortunately didn't include the subtitles for the Spanish scenes in Blue Beetle. Really sorry about that, I didn't realize until it was too late. There aren't too many, but it stinks. #2, Aquaman, Aquaman 2, and Blue Beetle take place after Justice League and they have some references that make it clear. I didn't clean up all of them. I don't have much of a problem with the timeline being a bit wonky because it all converges well into meeting at Justice League. It wouldn't be the same without Aquaman in the core show.

Do you usually talk directly at the camera or past the camera?

Wondering how others are doing it. I’m looking slightly past to the script, but for shorts I could memorize it easier.

Just curious. And with that said,

Would you do it differently for a “longform” video than with a short?

Because I wonder if my shorts should be more locked in with eye contact having such a short time with the audience. Feels weird to look at.

Anyway, happy Wednesday!

Here’s the thing, both of them had incredibly awful struggles. Both have been suicidal, addicted to drugs, felt the huge highs from working with Bieber, felt the extreme lows in failing years during their solo careers. Michael changed his life. He examined it incredibly deeply and made music from those lessons too. Mathew didn’t change his life, never for a meaningful amount of time. He examines it only on the surface level, missing out on the revelations his friend enjoyed.

What a sad moment. I hope Mike is handling it well, I’m sure he is.
