I hate these kinda posts but why are the thunder junction precons so expensive?

I noticed because Stomping grounds is selling a minimal packaging Grand Larceny deck for 160 on sale, normal price 200 bucks.

It’s a recent and not very popular set, I don’t remember it being under printed, and there isn’t a lot of value in these decks either. Even the sample collector packs are like 10 bucks so it isn’t those either.

A set of all 4 has sold on TCGplayer for 600. Anyone know why? They sold these decks at Costco on discount with extra packs to get rid of them not long ago

Trying to do an “emergency” graft and wanted opinions on using this tree for rootstock

Someone in my neighborhood is planning on cutting down an extremely old peach tree that their grandfather had grown from seed over 50 years ago in their yard this August. They said they just don’t want to worry about upkeep or cleaning up dropped fruit. Not really my place to try and stop them but I did ask for some cuttings and they said yes.

I plan on trying to propagate some of it but I think a graft could help my chances of some success because they timing really isn’t optimal. I found this tree on Facebook marketplace and was wondering if it could be a good candidate to use for rootstock? I also talked to a local nursery that has a couple trees so I have a few options. The Facebook tree is just cheaper 😅

So what’s up with all the Flock cameras going up in Seaside?

It seems like there’s a new one everyday. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more than 100 at this point. I have to imagine the cost of all this equipment is eating up a lot of taxpayer dollars that could be used to actually help people.

As a non-resident who works in Seaside is there anything I can do to voice my concerns? These cameras are invasive and violate our rights. Having a reasonable expectation of privacy in public might mean security cameras are fine but Flock creates a database for every car it sees and tracks its movement. If a person was doing this they would be charged with stalking. They also routinely lead to the arrest of innocent people and there’s been many instances of cops getting trouble for using the technology to stalk people.

I can’t stop and I feel like a voyeur

I went to 2 little bonsai shows, got a couple little plants, and now I’m a creep. I can’t stop looking at every tree I see now. Even full grown mature trees don’t escape my gaze.

“Wow, that’s got some nice movement.” “Would anyone notice if I took a cutting from that?” “Leaves are kinda big I wonder if it’d respond well to defoliation…”

Every single tree. Straight to the root structure. Will I ever get better or will I be like this forever?

Won this bonsai in a raffle and I’m not sure how to approach it

Got this guy at a bonsai show this weekend and unsure what exactly to do with. The front and back view makes sense but it seems so odd from the top down. I’m assuming I should just not touch it and come back in a couple years? I can’t put it in the ground if a lot of growth is necessary but I could move it to a large pot to spread out. Past that I can’t imagine how this might be styled in the future. It seems like it was aggressively pruned back but where it goes from here is beyond me.

Unfortunately I’m no longer team Chris Cerney

He posted a video last night about his attempt to film a pride event in Santa Cruz and how he was asked to leave. Predictably homophobes and general bigots have swarmed the post. He’s decided that he’s alright with that happening.

He says he “doesn’t support homophobia or hateful comments in any way” but I think allowing a space for open bigotry is an endorsement by inaction. The lack of moderation sends a message that this behavior is tolerated. I personally won’t be positively interacting with his content in the future and wanted others to be aware of this behavior so they can make an informed decision about the media they’re consuming. I appreciate the need for local voices and independent journalists but when they’re creating negative situations like this I can’t be supportive.

The choices people make or don’t make matter. Especially when you’re putting yourself in the public eye. I don’t expect everyone to necessarily be an ally but allowing open hate is something I don’t think is acceptable

[Sun care] Anyway to get the Korean version in the U.S.?

My buddy brought me back this Round Lab sunscreen

from his trip to Korea and I absolutely love it and want to get more. Unfortunately it looks like what’s available in the U.S. isn’t actually the same. Is there a way to get the original Korean formula in the U.S.?

Looking for a local blacksmith or similar to fix a hatch handle and resharpen

I’ve got a shitty camping hatchet I need fixed. I’ve had it for a long time which is why I’d like it repaired vs getting a new one. Hoping to pay under 40-50

Are there any good visual guides for doing fbr and passport applications?

I’m a visual learner and have been having a hard time understanding exactly what’s needed and what it should look like. Is there a guide to the process that has pictures of everything? I’m trying to organize an application for myself and my 3 siblings. I did a quick search of the sub and didn’t see anything.

Anyone know why the side/back of the Golden State Theater looks like this?

Me and my buddy were walking around looking at architecture and couldn’t decide why the building would look like this
