I have a work of fiction that is set to be published next year. Though it is not going through the traditional publishing route and there are other reasons for that. I am an engineer by trade and I work within academia.

I started writing a novel 2 years ago. To my great surprise people loved the draft. I started working with contacts within the private school system asking if people thought there was any value in using it as a teaching tool. It is very personal and includes a lot of very serious themes including mental illness, suicide, substance abuse, and domestic violence. Ultimately it has a rather hopeful ending and is not overly graphic. Either way, colleagues agreed they'd use it in the classroom, assuming I also write a classroom companion.

Not the point. Rather, I am terrified of being accused of being a robot. My writing already has some interesting quirks of using overly techical language alongside casual.

I was horrified to find passages flag as AI. Evidently I cannot name colors without a flag... can nobody say "reds, greens and blues" anymore? Ever? I had tried several dozen ways of talking about vivid color and was informed I am AI with high confidence.

So, I've found myself researching common AI word usage, common phrasing patterns, perplexity scores, burstiness and avoiding rule of threes... which is all absurd. I am now trying to... what? Camoflauge my prose to hide the fact I am secretly a roomba?

I never so much as used Grammarly, which I understand causes flags with it's suggestions. I have used a human editor who is helping with the fact I have evidently never used a comma correctly in my life.

There are such serious consequences to being accused of being AI. I try to remind myself we are talking scattered passages testing less than 10% overall. Not like Shy Girl, and not like It Was Either That Or Die which scored nearly 100%

That, however is my paranoid fear.

My text has none of the bizarre similes associated with AI text, not everything is sharp, though some things have weight.

Although some similes are, on the surface bizarre if they weren't character-specific.

Believe me, I went through and removed any mention of "sharp intake of breath", although I did leave one mention of "sharp on my tongue."

So, I may be a Roomba and just didn't know it till now.

How exactly do we live this way?

I am new to Facebook. I started 3 weeks ago and got about 600k views, only 5k follows though. So quite a low conversion rate.

I am established on tiktok and youtube already but figured I'd move to fb because tiktok has dicked me around. A LOT.

I got on a waitlist for monetization quite quick. But, I am reading people have been on it for YEARS.

2 days ago I got a notification to apply for the breakthrough program. But alas. I am not monitized. I did apply.

For anyone who is curious. I make longform content on technology research news. I have over a million followers on other platforms. I just never broke into FB because every time I've looked, it feels like it takes forever with zero guarantees.

I'm in a low period right now. I get about 2-5M views a month but just 275-300k qualify. If they fall below 100k you are kicked from the program. I've seen lots of people that has happened to. Especially for those who make language learning content due to a high number of foreign views.

Hi, I am a managed creator. I am contracted with tiktok to make certain kinds of content.

A few months ago I lost additional rewards which took a huge chunk out of my pay.

This isn't my only job mind you, but I was saving a lot of money. I recently moved to a smaller place, lowered all my bills because I wanted to so something actually stupid. Work on my writing. So I wasn't in a bad spot. I can live below my means without tiktok. But the pay cut was roughly 5 figures a month gone.

My manager reached out to the additional rewards team multiple times and heard nothing. He has one POC for them and he got AI responses. I went through every avenue sans tiktok legal because that is the nuclear option.

It is important to note I do get to talk with humans. Every time and I get to speak to tier 2 and 3 support from the get go. Yes there are tiers. Most creators only have access to tier one and it seems they speak to a robot and don't get escalated. I have still not figured out exactly how it is decided if someone gets a person or a robot. I am grateful I get people.

At some point, I got to tier 4 support. Someone said they'd file an internal appeal. I qualify by every metric they can see. What I got back was an ai. Who incidently told me an ai makes all the decisions. No one can actually argue with the AI. So I gave up. I still got paid for the content through my contracted work. Just a great deal less.

Today, months to the day later it came back. For all of my videos made since it went away. Months of videos have the little blue tag. I don't get back pay. There are no laws to protect creators. Companies do whatever they want and there are no consequences.

Lesson learned? The company is disorganized. No one can help you. Even if someone hypothetically wanted to help you. They still can't. They also don't want to.

By the end of it. My manager felt defeated. I felt defeated. Support felt defeated. Everyone gave up and then it came back for no logical reason anyone can determine. I don't trust it coming back either.

So there. You lost additional rewards and want it back and don't know how to get it back? No idea what you should do. Quit. Keep making content. Keep at it? Who knows?! No one does. Including the people who work at this company.

I got a Jeep Renegade Lat in 2020. I previously had a 2016 sport that was totaled because someone turned down my street going 80 in a residential, lost control and crashed into my parked car. I got a really good deal on a car with 100 miles on it because someone fell asleep smoking in a rental and there was interior fire damage. So I got a basically free slightly damaged new car after insurance paid me for my old one.

It took a bit, including replacing upholstery and a couple pro cleanings and a whole lot of fabreeze, but the smoke smell is gone.

I am just under 90k miles and I have had no issues. I did once have to replace the battery as I left a light on while gone for a week. Other than that, it is surprisingly reliable.

I understand my experiance might be a rarity. If they male a hybrid I would buy that. I have something against fully electric cars because I spend a LOT of time in the woods and I don't want to get stuck needing to charge in the middle of nowhere.

Will you get the new rene if its electric or hybrid?

I lost additional rewards at the end of April, here is what I have learned.

Losing additional reward has happened once before and it lasted for 10 days. This time we are now 2 weeks in.

Things I learned:

* Tiktok has teams for each program and they do not talk to eachother. So my team asking the other team led to no answers. I have contacted managed support now 2 times and am waiting on answers.

* I've spoken to tiktok support three times now. They have told me.

1. I am qualified for Additional rewards. I should he recieving it.

2. They don't know why I am not.

* Accounts are tagged with disqualifiers and are reviewed occasionally. Right now my account has been tagged as inconsistent topics, even though support has repeatedly agreed that is not the case.

I've had it escalated to teir 3 and has triggered a re-review of my account and content which will be resolved in 72 hours. No guarantees. This one is not a ticket.

To summarize. No one talks to eachother. No one knows what is going on and why it is happening. It is all highly disorganized.

So if you were wondering, no, even tiktok has no idea what is going on.

Lastly, some advice. Keep an agent on the line. The tickets are far less likely to have a resolution vs speaking to a human live and explaining. I have explained each topic point to an agent repeatedly and had materials ready to go as evidence. They go through possibilities and you have to defend yourself at each one. If you have a ticket, it just gets classed into a possibility without being able to defend against the potential answer they give.

This has been a really chilling revelation for me. My twin sister is trans and when she came out our dad cut all contact with her.

We both share the same condition that makes us at risk for aneurism. It finally happened. Her wife found her unconscious in their apartment.

She's doing okay now. Concious but medically fragile. I am flying out to see her tomorrow.

The thing that really chilled me was our father refusing to come out. He said he doesn't care. I don't understand how someone can just not care. Even if you have differences. Even if you think someone is doing something that is wrong. How do you just stop caring about your child? I fail to understand how that is even possible.

Anyway, I just wanted to say this to someone. I am really disturbed by it.
