What’s it like owning an Abyssinian?

My dog passed last Tuesday after 15 years - my cat Chip is all alone now and I want to get him a friend. Abyssinian’s are gorgeous and would like to possible add one to the family but would like to hear from those who own one.

My senior girl has pancreatitis

My 14.5yo female Westie has been sick since Sunday, May 10th, Mother’s Day. She projectile vomited that night and has been uneasy and vomiting ever since. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis and esophagitis. I‘ve brought her to a few vets and one internist that’s been providing me her injectable and oral medication however she was not prescribed anything for pain! Here’s what I have on hand for her:

- 1000mL Lactaged Ringer’s IV bag

- injectable Cerenia

- injectable Ampicillin antibiotic

- injectable/oral Zofran, Ondansetron

- Sucralfate (oral)

- Omeprazole (oral)

- Entyce (oral appetite stimulant)

- Mirataz (transdermal appetite stimulate)

………….………….……………………..…..……

- Prednisone (chronic pulmonary HTN)

- Sildenafil (pulmonary HTN)

I read Gabapentin is sometimes used? I have that on hand.

Earlier in the week she was unable to keep down fluids but now is drinking on her own, I just started incorporating gelatinous bone broth as well as Rebound liquid vitamins that she’s able to keep down.

She’s fasting herself and hasn’t eaten for days now. So the positive is she’s staying hydrated and still urinating. I‘ve also been trying red light therapy on her.

I’m not sure if I should give Gaba for pain, I’m still confused and overwhelmed. I don’t know how to tackle this and would appreciate any help.
