How is "Again", really?

Given its poor reception, I figure there's probably a reason Nintendo didn't publish this one, but man, the trailer makes the game seem really cool. Surely it can't be that bad.

Do you think NES games are better for children?

I remembered how a lot of 8-bit games, particularly in the Atari era, often encouraged kids to use their imaginations to fill in the blanks when the onscreen graphics couldn't show them everything. And then you have games like Zelda that encourage physical skills by drawing out maps, writing down clues, and doing genuine problem solving in the real world, often while interacting with a parent.

Do you think, for these reasons, old games like this are overall more valuable to the growing psyche of young children? Obviously plenty of modern games can teach skills and encourage the imagination too, like Minecraft, but if I were to expose my son to retro games instead of games like it or Roblox, would that be bad? Would it alienate him from his friends? I'm afraid that if he were to get into Minecraft or Roblox, he would never want to play anything else.

33M, High RBC + hematocrit, low platelets?

Did a test two months ago and got these results. Two months later, same thing, although my platelets are actually a bit higher than they were before. I'm going into a hematology clinic on Tuesday. Should I be concerned? Does this seem like polycythemia vera or something else? It says my hemoglobin levels are normal, but I've read that 17.5 is actually rather high.

ELI5: Why are so many characters in Japanese fiction so passionate about their work, to the point of obsession?

In Japanese media, either anime or video games, even realistic ones, I often see characters that are either descended from a long line of people in their specific profession, or they dedicate their entire lives to becoming the best worker in that profession that they can. This often applies to artistic professions, but it sometimes also applies to lawyers and engineers. They often act obsessed about their work and make their work part of their entire personality.

What is going on in Japanese work culture? Because I have never, ever seen this portrayed in American or British media. We are much more apathetic towards our work and it seems rare for our characters to love their job so much, unless it's a fantasy setting.

Can therapy help me be less lazy?

My therapist abandoned me after two sessions, and I think it's because my problem sounds so strange.

Work, that is anything productive, feels mentally agonizing for me. It's to the point where I feel like I'd rather die than work. Spending every day sitting on my ass and doomscrolling is more appealing to me than doing something productive, anything. I can't enrich myself, I can't learn new skills, I can't put myself out there or apply myself. Everything I currently have has been handed to me by people that try to take care of me and encourage me, and I just can't fix myself. Anything that involves any kind of effort on my part legitimately feels like torture.

My doctor thought it was depression, but I've tried several antidepressants at different dosages and felt no change. I was referred to a therapist who specializes in autism, and I thought that might be at least somewhat of the problem, but she evidently either couldn't see a path to recovery or had no idea how to tackle it. I simply can't force myself to think "I gotta get something done" and I don't know how to get myself in that mindset. I recognize that everyone has to work, everyone has to provide for either themselves or their families, but that's not good enough for me. I don't know what I need.

Got cut while skinning Raccoon hide after it sat in brine solution for weeks

While tanning the hide, I managed to stab my finger multiple times (I don't have the proper tools for this, too expensive). Normally I would assume there's a risk of rabies, but the hide sat in an acidic brine solution. Would that not have killed any viruses on the fur? If not, then what should I do? I'm still new to this process.

Leviathan is just unfair

Omega is a superboss done right. Completely insane, crazy spectacle, very fast, very reactable attacks, it's very hard but doesn't take any of your moves away so it's still perfectly fair.

Leviathan has so many attacks that I swear are impossible to dodge (fuck Maelstrom), it has more HP than actual IRL God, and the shield requires sheer perfection to break without any time to spare. If the game hadn't made a checkpoint for every phase and refilled my Firelights, I would've given up and not even bothered finishing the DLC. Unlike with Omega, the idea of beating this boss your first try is laughable. Half its attacks are trial-and-error figuring out how the shit you're supposed to deal with them.

I hate this fight. I love this game, but this is the only time I ever experienced story content that was unfair to the point where it wasn't even fun anymore. I can't even imagine tackling this on FF mode. Fuck that.
