Hangin on to hope.

I’m typing this because I’m just feeling so lost and defeated today.
After my last relationship ended, my heart feels broken beyond repair. I put so much of myself into it, only to realize that when things got real, I wasn't being accepted for who I truly am. It made me feel like completely closing the door on dating for good.
I know I’m not perfect. I’m carrying grief, I have flaws, and I’m actively trying to heal and work on things every single day. But I always thought that’s what a good partner does—they see you in your entirety, including the messy parts you’re still working on, and they choose to learn and grow with you anyway.
Is that just a fairytale now? Have any of you been at this exact point—feeling like your heart was totally shattered and that you were "too much" for someone—and actually found a partner who accepted all of you, grief and all?
I just really need a little hope right now.

Question?

If a woman has a husband or a partner, do you think it is appropriate for her to be calling other men who are taken or married for “advice”, specifically “business advice”?
More context to the story here-
I’m in a new relationship with a guy that I’ve been with for almost 4 months now. Prior to those 4 months, there was a woman that he had been in communication with. Mind you this woman has a partner who for some reason is not fond of my current new partner. (My partner told told me this)

I just found out today that this is the same woman that he had told me he had helped some time ago purchase a vehicle as well as live on his property for I don’t know how long…but now it all makes sense why her boyfriend probably wouldn’t be fond of my partner because it’s inappropriate to carry on a friendship/relationship with a man whose property she lived on and who also was supporting her with a vehicle and money. (men don’t just do that -just to do it).

So this woman calls him four months later to randomly ask him on a Tuesday morning for business advice about a food truck? We are in 2026. Why is she calling my boyfriend on an early Tuesday morning to catch up about food truck business? They have not spoke in four months. His socials now say taken and I’m curious if this is why she has an intention to reach out because I just find it so random and feel there is ulterior motives?

He would’ve not even brought up anything about her or their early morning phone call -if I had not mentioned wanting to go on a double date with my girlfriend, and her partner earlier that afternoon. After I mentioned a double date, he said oh I have a girlfriend named so and so that would love to go on a double date with us too. The same girl whose boyfriend does not care for my partner. So now I just feel like they both are intentionally trying to get her partner and me on board to double date so her partner and me can look like sitting ducks while my partner and her intentionally cultivate a friendship/relationship. So odd.

Why would I wanna go on a double date with a woman who he supported for a short time before dating me and also was speaking to four months prior before being with me about who knows what? and why would I want to go on a double date when my partner had told me that her boyfriend doesn’t like him for some “odd” reason? Why would I wanna go on a double date if he’s not friends with the guy and he’s friends with the girl it just seems not at all traditional and inappropriate. I was taught to always introduce myself to the the lady first handNOT the man and vice versa so to just go on a double date, knowing that your partner is friends with a girl and then her partner feeling the same way! I feel it’s just so odd. Advice?
