A Look At China's Crazy Live Streaming Culture
Surely this degree of widespread escapism isn't helping relationship building and family formation. But I wouldn't be surprised if its a symptom of a much deeper issue (loss of connection).
Back Carrying With a Long Torso and Without a Prominent Waist
So I'm the dad, lanky farmer type build.
I have a 98th percentile 6mo girl, and a manduca XT soft structured carrier. It works great for front carrying but without a waist line I find I have to cinch it down uncomfortably firm against my abdomen. It sits nicely on my hips but then she's far too low down.
She's beginning to sit up unsupported, and I've been wanting to transition to back carrying (I hate being unable to see my feet or bend over, and I'll typically walk a few kms a day with her).
I've done some experiments with the manduca and have had a lot of trouble keeping her in a high carry position, my issues with the waistband continue to plague me. She just ends up slipping down into a rather uncomfortable low carry after a km or so (and most of the weight ends up on my shoulders).
I'm trying to find a carrier that'll actually work for me, feel like I need something that will let me put the load on my hips, and then will support her further up (maybe something apron style). I've also been looking at framed carriers like the osprey poco (for the future) but she enjoys sleeping so the lack of spine support feels questionable.
Any suggestions?
Not enough people are aware of the Mackenroth Thesis
I have no idea why nobody has bothered to translate it into english [1] but it was used as the foundational justification for Germany in the 1950s adopting a pay as you go pension rather than a funded scheme.
>Every generation's retirement consumption must ultimately come from what the working generation produces at that time.
It's popular to claim funded schemes will fix all our problems but there's good evidence (outside of small nations that invest their pension funds in faster growing international markets) that it's probably more or less true.
