Hello everyone,

I’ve had some great advice and success in the past with posts in this community.

I have been advised by the local consulate (Sydney) that I am eligible to apply for citizenship through my mother’s father. One of the documents they are asking for is my grandparents marriage certificate which I am having a bit of trouble tracking down.

What I would like to know is how important is this document, and is it likely that I will be able to proceed without it. I have emailed the local archive with no response, but had no issues obtaining other documents from similar areas.

I am currently in the process of searching for birth records of my grandfather. An older record shows he was born 23/01/1922 in Wangerin / Rügenwalde. I am aware that this area is now part of Poland following WWII. What I require assistance with is finding the correct local archive office to request a copy of his birth certificate. Any assistance is appreciated
