My husband and I are both 28. We currently live in Bluffton and have a decent amount of equity in our house. I've had experience working in government and there is a decent amount of jobs in the area. We want to have a family in the next couple years. Is it a good place for older 20s and for young families?
I worked for my state and there was a clerical error in the HR that gave them a reason to fire me. I've pretty much only done government accounting during my career. I have no experience in anything tax related for business. Do I have any hope of getting hired outside of government? Is there a way to learn tax and it comes across as reputable?
I have one job that I'm in the interviewing process of that government and I really want it, but it's competitive.
Has anyone dealt with a wrongful termination lawsuit? I got fired 2 days after an ADA meeting. They said I lied on my application. They also told me they dug into my profile after I filled. I did not lie. There were no questions that were untruthful. My boss told me to sue. Has anyone been successful?
I work as a hostess at a midrange restaurant. It's around $20-$30 a plate. Surprisingly a lot of people do takeout. We get the tips when people do. People look so offended when the tip screen comes on and we have NO control over it. It's the same system as the servers. I'm grateful for the people that tip, but we don't bat an eye when people don't. We look like beggars and it's annoying!
