Building credit for my children

Is there any way that I can start building my children’s credit for them while they are still little so that once they are grown, they will be able to start off on top? Im 25 and I have a 3 and 1 year old. My credit score is 796, my only debt is my car loan and the only thing effecting my credit negatively is that the age of my credit is relatively low. I would consider myself wise with money but I don’t know tons about things I could do for my children to contribute to their own personal financial success. Any ideas or advice?

Randomly high water bill

This morning I opened up my utility bill to find out that I owe 700. Typically my city utilities sit right around 115, give or take a bit. I was totally shocked to see that I went from using less than 2k gallons of water a month, to apparently 58k gallons in 30 days?! That’s insane. I called the city and they sent someone out to check my meter and make sure that it is working and they said everything looks good and that they can’t see any problems or constantly running water. So how is this possible that I owe them now 700. For context, I have a toilet that runs constantly. However, this has been the case for nearly 10 months. I ALWAYS have the water turned off on that toilet and I only ever turn it on if I need to flush it. I just avoid using the toilet as much as I can because it’s not the only toilet in my house. It is in the bathroom off my master bedroom so I know for a fact that I don’t leave it running because the sound drives me absolutely insane (and obviously because it’s wasting water) but I would know for sure if I left it on for long periods of time because I wouldn’t ever be able to fall asleep lol. Either way, I’ve not done anything different with my water for the past year, so why all the sudden would the bill be so high? The tech told me that I have used 2k gallons just in the past 48 hours alone but my toilet hasn’t even been turned on in the past 48 hours so I know it’s not coming from that. I have used my dishwasher one time, washing machine once and have taken 1 shower and bathed my kids 2 times in the past 48 hours. So how is that actually possible to use 2k gallons in 2 days? I am 1 adult with two small children. I know exactly what my water usage is and I think it’s insane for them to say I’ve used 58k in a month. Can someone help me understand this?

Angela is the worst character ever

Does anyone else think that her character is so forced and actually makes no sense? Obviously they needed some sort or antagonist but she was a horrible choice. I actually hate every scene with her

Earwigs are driving me insane

I am surrounded by farms where I live so I’m used to there being a lot bugs. (Mainly flies, spiders and crickets) this year since summer began I have seen an unholy amount of earwigs. I kill 3-4 inside my house on a daily basis. I’ve never ever even seen 3-4 in my house total before this summer. It is driving me absolutely mad. I do regular pest control every 3 months and since the last time they have come it has done absolutely nothing. It almost seems like it made it worse. They are set to come back and do it again but in the mean time I decided to try some spectracide bug spray from Home Depot. I cleaned everything single corner of my house and moved everything piece of furniture to clean and spray around and it still CHANGED NOTHING. They are definitely coming in through my front and back door mainly cause that is where I find them the most but how can I stop this?? What is the best thing for me to do??

Check engine light has turned on and off 3 times

I drive a 2016 Honda pilot, 61K miles, clean title. Never had any problems with it, but in the past 2 months my check engine light has turned on and off 3 times. It has stayed on only for like a day at a time. I took it to get the code read at auto zone and these are the codes it brought up. I’m a girl and Idk anything about cars and neither did the kid at autozone who ran the code for me. If I take it into the dealership they are gonna change me $180 just to read the code to tell me what wrong. So I’m wondering if anyone knows what is wrong and what the fix is/ the cost of said repair.

Insurance processing claims for nearly 9 months

I had a baby in September of 2025, my baby was born via c section so my medical bills are slightly higher than that of someone who had a natural birth. To make a complicated story short, my bills are split in 2. One is grouped together with my hospital stay + my prenatal care from my doctor + my baby and his hospital stay. The second bill is separate for my cesarean. (I have no idea why they are separate or grouped together the way they are) the first bill comes to a grand total of $17,008.74 before insurance, and the second bills total is $11,390.80 before insurance. My first bill was processed through my insurance and I finally got my first bill in February of 2026 for $529.86. Seemed like a really small portion to be left to my responsibility but I don’t really care and I just paid it. That bill showed as completed and paid on my medical account. The second bill has been in processing for the last 9 months and I have been waiting for a bill the whole time. I have contacted the hospital billing department and my insurance and literally everyone just says I DONT KNOW. never gives me any answers. Fast forward to today, the bill that was processed and I PAID, is now back in processing for a different amount?! Why would they be reprocessing the bill again 9 months after the service and 4 months after I paid the amount they told me I owed?! Again, I call the hospital billing department and my insurance and their only answers are I DONT KNOW. literally wtf is even going on?! Can anyone help me make sense of this or give me any kind of advice on what to do? This is so ridiculous. How hard could it be to tell me how much I owe you for a completely routine procedure with no complications. This is my second c section in the same hospital, same doctors, same insurance.

Trying to help my kids dad in probation

If I contact his probation officer to help explain some mistakes he has made recently violating probation, will that help or hurt? I’m part to blame for him getting a new charge as it was domestic violence and we were arguing and I’m the one who called the police which I shouldn’t have and I totally regret it. I would just feel awful if his probation gets revoked and he has to go to jail and I rely on him in so many ways. Is it worth talking to the po?

What happens next

Has anyone ever gotten new misdemeanor charges while on felony probation? If so, were you able to avoid jail and how? Or what happened?
Edit: please reply to this thread if you have any helpful information
