Ive been stuck trying to figure out the scale this song uses for a while, does anyone know?
At first i thought it was in phrygian dominant, but i found the notes dont correspond too well, i also tried the double harmonic major/minor scales and they didnt even fit either

Do all major songs default to har. minor rather than nat. minor when transcribed to the minor scale?
Had to shorten the names cuz of letter limit but using the song “Its a small world” as an example, its written in G major and for certain scenes in the ride it switches to G and E harmonic minor in russia/egypt/middle east and india respectively. however when i went on hooktheory and put it to natural minor it sounds much more flat which leads me to think that harmonic minor is better to use for stuff like this rather than minor. What mode would you say this song is in?
Ive been wondering for a while since i added it to hooktheory (which i dont know how good of a site it truly is for learning this stuff) but i set it to eb dorian because of its heavy reliance of the ebm6 chord, however the melody is more harmonic minor if anything, so this is prolly a stupid question but im too curious. It could also be melodic minor/harmonic major but idk
