Riddle #2

Since the previous post was liked by night dwellers on this sub, here is another one -

You have 8 identical-looking balls. One is slightly heavier than the rest. You have a balance scale to help you in finding out which one is heavier.

Using a balance scale only twice, how do you find the heavier ball?

Drop your answers and step-by-step logic below.

Edit - Not a riddle, it’s a logic puzzle / brain teaser

Craving good cheesecake

Hey everyone,

I'm having a massive late-night cheesecake craving and want to head out right now to grab a slice.
I know ordering via Swiggy/Zomato is an option, but I genuinely want to step out, sit down and eat today.

Looking for recommendations in or around Electronic City (Phase 1 or Phase 2) that are serving genuinely good cheesecake (baked, Basque, or New York style preferred, but open to anything solid). Open and taking walk-ins until at least 12am tonight, it’s already 10.

Drop your favorites below! Thanks in advance.

[30M] Skipping the dating app fatigue to find something real

Hey everyone,

I’m 30M, working in Operations here in Bangalore. I’ve been living away from home and managing life independently since I was 13. While that taught me how to take care of myself, the long-term goal for me has always been clear: I want to build a warm, grounded family of my own.

I’m completely done with dating apps. Between ghosting, bots, fake profiles, and people who aren't looking for anything intentional, the endless swiping feels like a tedious second job. I’d rather put myself out here honestly and see if a genuine connection happens.

A bit about who I am:
I have ADHD, which means my brain runs on rotating hyperfixations. Right now, I’m deeply immersed in aquascaping, photography, and anime, so you will never get a boring, predictable answer to "what did you do this weekend?"

I’m mostly a homebody who appreciates quiet downtime, but put me in a social setting and I’m completely in my element. I talk a lot once I'm comfortable, and I have a genuine soft spot for random, late-night drives across Bangalore when the roads are actually clear.

What I’m looking for:
Honestly, I don’t have an exhaustive checklist of criteria. I just want someone kind, communicative, and dating with serious intent and ideally someone who wouldn't mind falling completely head over heels in love with me in about two weeks flat (negotiable, but let's aim high).

If any of this resonates and you don't mind someone passionately explaining their latest niche hobby over chai, feel free to drop a DM with a quick intro about yourself. Let’s skip the app small talk and see where a real conversation goes.

Note - Obviously used AI to write this but I promise I Dn’t txt lyk ths.

Women of Bangalore: Most of you claim you want a "grounded, emotionally mature guy," but you actually just want a entertaining golden retriever who pays for dinner. Change my mind.

Venting out a little bit of dating app frustration, every time I hear women in this city talk about what they want, it’s always the same checklist: emotional intelligence, ambition, stability, and deep conversations.

But from what I’ve seen, the second a guy is actually grounded, keeps a small circle, and doesn't perform like a circus monkey to keep you entertained every five seconds, he’s labeled "boring" or "detached." It feels like most people don't actually want depth or emotional stability, they just want constant drama, superficial charm, and someone to fuel their validation loop.

A truly self-made, independent guy who values his peace isn't going to dance for your attention or indulge in endless small talk.

Is real maturity actually attractive to women here, or do you all just prefer the illusion of it until you get bored?

Tell me why I’m wrong in the comments or DM me if you actually have a solid counter-argument.

Edit: Acknowledging the delivery here, this was typed in frustration and sounds like a grand generalisation. Obviously exceptions exist, just calling out a recurring pattern that's been driving me nuts.

Edit / Final Note: Look, the point of this post was to talk about a real dating dynamic I’ve experienced, not to bash women or play the victim. Rereading it, I can admit the tone came off sharper than I intended which I already admitted. And yeah, for a couple of these replies, I threw text into AI to draft quick responses because I didn't feel like typing it all out, which clearly made things sound even more robotic and detached.

That’s on me, but I’m still not going to sit here and entertain bad-faith insults or lazy nice guy tropes.

The thread is open if anyone wants to have an actual, reasonable conversation about the topic, but I’m done replying to the snark, personal jabs, and meta-arguments.

30 [M4F] Bangalore, Self-made, grounded, and looking for something fun and low-pressure.

Hey everyone,
I’m 30, based in Bangalore, and putting myself out here for something casual, fun, and low-pressure. I’m looking to date, explore the city, and enjoy good company without any rush or heavy expectations.

A Bit About Me:

Self-Made: I come from a humble background and skipped the traditional college route, building a solid, independent career through pure grit.

Life & Hobbies: Outside of work, I’m into wildlife photography, playing badminton, watching football, aquascaping, and heading out on spontaneous weekend drives. Always up for a chill co-pilot for road trips or a casual game on the court.

Social Circle: I keep a small, tight-knit group of solid friends, but I’m looking to meet new people and share good times.

Full Transparency: I have ADHD (which I manage well) and I’m a smoker actively working on quitting, just keeping it real upfront.

What I’m Looking For:
I’m looking for an independent, laid-back woman who wants to enjoy good conversations, chill dates, and a zero-drama connection. No heavy long-term goals or pressure—just mutual respect, good chemistry, and having fun in the present.
If you’re up for a grounded, easygoing connection, drop me a DM with a bit about yourself!

I’m 30 now, and I still can’t stop wondering what could’ve been with the girl who gave me a Cadbury Temptations in 10th grade

I’ve been replaying this memory a lot lately, and I just needed to get it out of my head.

Back in school, I had this weird, easy confidence. I was decent looking, pretty popular, and flirting came naturally to me, not in a loud or obnoxious way, but I just knew I could talk to anyone and get away with it.

Every girl in school assumed I had a queue of girlfriends lined up, but whenever I actually liked someone, I'd completely freeze up and couldn't flirt at all.

One day after class, this quiet, really sweet girl walked up to me. She handed me a bar of Cadbury Temptations and a piece of notebook paper folded so many many times.

I opened it later, expecting some generic note. Instead, she wrote something that completely disarmed me: “You’re constantly surrounded by people and making everyone laugh, but I notice how detached you look when you think nobody’s watching. I see you putting on a show for everyone else, but you don't have to do that with me."
She actually saw me. In a blur of superficial attention, she was the only person who ever looked right past the effortless charm and saw the lonely, hesitant guy underneath.

And what did my dumb 15-year-old brain do? My ego took over. I was terrified of someone seeing through my armor, so the next day I gave her some cold, indifferent brush-off and went right back to flirting with anyone and everyone to keep the streak going.

That mindset carried right into my 20s. There was a whole parade of women in and out of my life, some stayed for a while, some were just passing whims. Some I left simply because I could, driven by that same casual detachment. Others eventually left because I was still acting like that same boy from school, relying on charm and never actually letting anyone in. But across every woman who came and went, not a single person ever saw me the way that girl did with a handwritten note in a school corridor.

Now at 30, that weird confidence and cockiness are completely gone. I have no idea where she is today. She’s probably married, living her life, and if she remembers me at all, it’s just as some arrogant school guy who wasn't worth the effort.

It sounds so stupid that a single afternoon from 15 years ago still gets to me, but I catch myself revisiting that day from time to time. I just keep wondering what my life would look like right now if I had taken a breath, eaten the chocolate, and dropped the act.

Does anyone else have that one ego-driven mistake from school that still haunts you years later?

Help with sexuality

Somebody told me last night that I could be a woman in man’s body looking at my body language for 10 minutes, I am always soft spoken, don’t have that testosterone rage that most men do, not even when I hit puberty. I am not always sexually interested in women, only if I connect with someone intellectually. I couldn’t sleep all night thinking I could be a woman, has anyone experienced anything like this? I am 30 btw

If anyone else has experienced this, please let me know, irrespective of whether you realised it’s just overthinking or if you indeed were a woman in man’s body.

Dating app scammers

Hi All, I am so used to matching with scammers now, I can spot them from a mile away! These scammers take oblivious guys on first date to a pub, rack up the bill and leave in the middle stating someone came to pick them up and these poor guys end up taking the bill.

Previous script - they always start with “what do you do” with no question mark, then go on to ask “where are you from” and then questions about where you stay, do you drink etc

If they find that you are from outside Bangalore but staying in Bangalore, have a job, they immediately switch to let’s meet and decide where to go, we will start as friends and then go on with relationships etc

Present script - I got around 10 matches(all scammers) in the last 4 days and I am surprised to see they have updated the script, the questions are without a question mark, so a trained eye can still spot the scammer but they are now asking how long you have been using dating apps, have you met anyone before before they start with let’s meet proposition.

I guess what I am trying to say is, this process has started looking at operational efficiency and they have added some key questionnaires to screen clients who won’t give them any revenue. Someone enterprising has joined the team! If the founder of this business is seeing this post, I am an expert at removing blockers, non value add steps and making your overall process efficient and increasing revenue. I could be open for a consultant position, DM me if you are seeing this.

Edit - I forgot to mention, all the fashion designing students are now learning to be beauticians and nail art, it’s nice to know the scammers’ learning catalogs has expanded too :/
