Is 22-23 too late to start in Actuary?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 22-year-old first-year MBA student. Mathematics has always been my favorite subject, but I only recently learned about the actuarial profession.

I'm considering giving the actuarial exams a try, but since I'm already pursuing an MBA, I'm unsure whether it's worth starting at this age. Plz give me your point of view

Upskilling or keep chasing a better MBA college

I (22M) am currently studying in a tier 3/4 MBA college. Before joining, I completely misjudged the college and significantly overestimated its quality. Looking back, I regret joining it.

After spending 2–3 months there, I decided to prepare for the MBA CET exam because it was the only major entrance exam still available at the time and seemed like my best chance to move to a better college. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll get into any of the top colleges this year either.

The biggest consequence is that I spent so much time focusing on CET preparation that I completely neglected my summer internship. As a result, I currently have no internship experience and feel like I'm sitting idle with nothing meaningful on my resume.

Now I'm stuck between two options:

  1. Continue obsessing over getting into a top-tier MBA college and keep trying through entrance exams.

  2. Accept the situation, focus on upskilling, build practical skills, work on projects, and try to get a job on my own despite being from a lower-tier college.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? If you were in my position, how would you think about this decision?

Also sorry for using AI I wanted to put my inner thoughts in a structured format

Just give a mock same 90-110 score. I am stuck in this range from 2 months now even the new pattern mocks I am barely getting 130ish score i have tried everything but now it feels like a lost battle. Actually I have already taken admission this year and wanted JBIMS but now it feels like a mistake I messed up my summer internship due to my focus on CET and still i am not able to score good in mocks. Just wanted to rant nothing else.
