The St.Mary Church, 12/13th Century - 1969, Vau i Dejës - Albania

A Roman-Gothic style Church, Destroyed during the anti-Theist fervour in Albania, after Albania got declared an Atheist state.

It was a Cultural Monument under the State Protection, but that didn't help much. The workers who blew it up, were even sued by the head of the department of Cultural Heritage, but the prosecutor found out that the workers "didn't know it's a cultural monument"...
