[Rescued and restored] Vintage G-Shock DW-5600C Module 691

Rescued and restored: Vintage G-Shock DW-5600C Module 691
Picked up this early screw-back DW-5600C in rough shape and decided it deserved a second chance.
The watch came to me heavily worn with deteriorated resin, years of grime, and plenty of battle scars from what was clearly a well-lived life. Underneath it all, though, was an original module 691 and the classic stainless steel screw-back case that made these early squares legendary.
After a full teardown, cleaning, inspection, and rebuild with fresh resin, it’s back on the wrist and ready for another few decades of service.
There is just something special about these early G-Shocks:
Module 691
Stainless steel screw-back case
200m water resistance
Classic square design
Built like a tank
Amazing to think this watch is nearly 40 years old and still doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Restoring vintage G-Shocks is every bit as satisfying as bringing an old mechanical watch back to life.

The watch that fits like my favorite pair of blue jeans

I’ve added and sold quite a few watches over the years, but my Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic 38mm keeps proving why it’s considered a modern classic.
The dial is incredibly easy to read at a glance, the case proportions are just about perfect for my wrist, and it disappears once it’s on.
I recently added a Sinn 556i RS to the collection and absolutely love it, but if you asked me which watch is easier to live with every day, I’d probably point to the Hamilton.
It isn’t trying to impress anyone. It just does everything well.
Sometimes the best watch in the collection isn’t the most expensive or the most technically impressive—it’s the one you naturally reach for when you’re heading out the door.
For me, that’s the Hamilton.

62 MAS Tribute

My grandfather’s generation had the original 62MAS. Mine has this.
I built this NH35-powered diver as my tribute to the watch that started Seiko’s dive watch legacy back in 1965.
It combines the classic 62MAS design language with modern materials:
• NH35 movement
• 316L stainless steel case and bracelet
• Sapphire crystal
• Lumed ceramic bezel insert
Not a replica and not intended to be one—just my interpretation of a classic.
There’s something satisfying about wearing a watch you assembled yourself.

Sinn 556i RS

Finally joined the Sinn club with a new 556i RS.
Picked this one up to mark the birth of my granddaughter last week, so this watch will always have a special meaning to me. The deep black dial, red seconds hand, and incredibly comfortable bracelet sold me immediately.
My Hamilton Khaki Field will continue as the work watch, but I think the Sinn has claimed home and weekend duty.
Looking forward to making memories with this one on the wrist.
