অপূর্ব, এক কথায় অপূর্ব। প্লট - ১০ এ ১০; একবার শুরু করলে থামানো কঠিন। পুলিশের অন্দরমহলের কাজকর্মের বিবরণ এই বই, এই সিরিজকে আরো আকর্ষণীয় করে তোলে। সব শেষে এটাও বলতে হয়, লেখিকা কিন্ত ঠান্ডা ভাবে ক্রাইমটি দেখিয়েছেন। ক্রাইম cozy হয় না, ক্রাইম এরম ভায়োলেন্ট আর explicit হয়। Scandinivian ক্রাইম ফিকশন যেমন হয়, এই বইটি ও সেরকম। ক্রাইম এর ক্লোজার হয়, কিন্ত সেই ক্লোজার শান্তি দেয় না, আনন্দ দেয় না। এটাই সাফল্য এই বই এর, সাফল্য লেখিকার।

A novella of around 100 pages, the book doesn't provide any surprises in terms of who's the culprit but the process of getting to the point of revelation is interesting.

There is something utterly lip smacking about these over the top detective fiction from Seishi Yokomizo.

^(It was good to read. The finish though felt a bit rushed. The book though marketed as a thriller can be better classified as a commentary on human psychology and also a view into mid 70s Japan. Overall it was a pleasant read.)

^(This is my third Seicho Matsumoto book, and like the other two the pattern repeats as in the plot being not too twisted and the pace of the book being a bit slow. But what kept me hooked to the pages were definitely reading about the Japanese society of 70s.)
