People don’t usually know what dysautonomia/ autonomic dysfunction is. So how do you explain it?
As title says.
How would you describe it?

I’m a nursing assistant (CNA) and work 2 12.5 hour shifts a week.
I have to take a lot of time off work.
Boss and colleagues arent understanding of course, however no one actually knows what autonomic dysfunction/ dysautonomia is and how BAD it can actually get in a flare.
Is your boss understanding?
Sorry I don’t know if this is the right place to put this.
On December the 18th 2025 I had an abortion via pills.
3 days later awful rotten smell so bad I had to put a pair of trousers over my nose just to go pee.
Went to go get evaluated by gyne on NHS.
Cervical swab clear, gave me 7 day course of amoxiclav.
3 weeks later I could smell the same again, got given another 7 day course same antibiotics.
A few months down the line the smell has been coming, going then coming again until I started bleeding and cramping quite bad (I’m also on the implant got inserted same day as termination)
GP has again gave me another 7 day course of omoxiclav antibiotics. I’m currently on day 2.
I must say after taking the first 2 doses of the AB, the smell disappears. However after a couple weeks it reappears again.
What the hell is this? Why is nothing being found? I can’t go back to womans health as I’m outwith their remit.
GP has informed me they can refer me to gyne with a 3 year waitlist.
The smell is terrible, it’s like something is rotten in there and no one is caring.
I don’t use tampons and never have, nor condoms so it is not a foreign body.
I have done a bit of research and I keep getting ENDOMITRITIS. Not a clue what this is. Wondering if anyone else has experienced the same?
Thanks
Implant got inserted 18th December 2025.
Got rid of my cramps completely and I spot almost daily.
Since yesterday I have had proper period cramps SO bad like my usual period would. I’m bleeding red too (usually just brown spotting) but only when I wipe nothing really soaking into pants/pad.
Ibuprofen not taking cramps away:( thought I was free from the pain noooo.
Just want to know if this is normal? Thanks.
Been t1D since I was 9, now 28. I weigh 16 stone and I’m 5 foot 2. Need to lose weight for sake of my health but the side effects scare me and it’s not yet legal for GP’s to prescribe in Scotland yet but hear wonderful things about T1D and mounjaro.
Wondering if anyone else feels the same?
It’s as if my body is addicted to ‘stress’ (?) maybe.
I work as a CNA, 12.5 hour shifts twice a week.
I’ve had autonomic dysfunction for 2 years now.
And when I flare I flare bad and have to take off work etc.
But I’ve realised I will go all day, all 12.5 hours and feel perfect, I get home destress then I can feel the symptoms creep in. Wake up on my day off and boom feel like absolute crap.
What is this?
Type one since I was 9 I’m now 28.
I’ve noticed my hands feel weird, and If I place them on my skin they burn, but like I’ve placed them into a pot of burning oil burn. Same thing with my feet, they’ve been cold for about 2 years now, and when I put them on my thighs they burn like mad. I have to use a cold damp towel to cool down to sleep.
This happens like flares. Isn’t all the time. So far it’s happened with my feet two times since March, and 3 times with my hands since April.
I do have a diabetic appt next week, but should I be concerned?
Had these symptoms for 2 years now.
Constant dizziness
Brain fog that bad it makes me confused and slur my speech
Fatigue
Body tremors
Feeling of agitation
Pre syncope (feeling so close to passing out but not)
The brain fog (if this is what it is) is getting really bad now, it feels like (physically) there’s ‘mist’ or heaviness in my head and my brain just goes to much so have to sit in my bed all day. I just don’t feel like a person.
Hii, been having autonomic dysfunction symptoms for 2.5 years now and can see my fiance (of 15 years) getting quite annoyed at all my appts. Not specifically at them but more so can’t be bothered with them. He has to sit in the waiting rooms when I go for scans etc or be in appts with me.
I’ve had to stop complaining everyday because I can only imagine the negativity that feeds back into him.
I’m thinking of just making my own way (I don’t drive) hospital is 20 mins away so I can easily get a bus to appts etc.
I’d just like to take the draining part away from him because I really don’t want our relationship to suffer any further.
I’m thinking of not mentioning any further appts and just going myself.
Please no one say he’s being a bad fiance, he’s stuck with me throughout the 2.5 years I’ve been like this and still plans on going ahead with the marriage with me.
I just know that it can get to a point.
I just want to take some of the stress off of him.
Has this helped your relationship?
Hi folks got given trimethoprim (3 day course) about a week ago, finished them on Wednesday morning. Saturday night (last night) I had the urge to pee very 2 mins, pee has heathy stream but once I got back into bed I was bursting again, go back to toilet about 2-3 mls came out. Today (Sunday) woke up with lower pelvic pain like period cramps (on the implant so I don’t actually get periods)
I can’t get a GP apt til tomorrow.
Is this another UTI? Bladder sensitivity?
