NIPT at 9 weeks 2 days - too early? [on]

Hi! Doing my LifeLabs Panorama NIPT (full panel) this Friday and I will be 9w4d based on LMP but 9w2d based on dating ultrasound (dating 2 days behind). This test is specifically valid at 9+ weeks but I’ve read some people have had to do a redraw due to low fetal fraction. I want to avoid a redraw but my dates are accurate, BMI is 19 (normal, I read higher BMIs are associated with lower fetal fraction). No meds or other things that may affect it. I’m open to waiting till the following week ~10 weeks (or 9 weeks 6 days) but not sure this will make a huge difference.

Has anyone done the same NIPT at 9+ weeks with a normal BMI and gotten a result? Alternatively has anyone with the same criteria as me been asked to do a redraw if inconclusive? If it’s likely okay, I’ll proceed now. However to avoid a redraw and another waiting game I am open to doing it a few days or a week later.

Thanks!

Silver Cross Strollers - Yay or Nay? [on]

I’m pretty sure I want a Silver Cross Reef. I originally landed on the Breez because it’s lighter but I read some reviews about the chassis snapping and since it’s so new I don’t want to get a product that isn’t tried and true. The reef seems to hold up better and more durable/larger with a longer track record. Does anyone have the silver cross reef and like it? Any issues? I know customer service is atrocious but otherwise it really checks all my boxes

Interested to know your experiences with either the Reef or Breez!

NIPT without NT? [on]

I am doing NIPT next week, but im under the impression that I won’t be getting NT scan. It has not been offered by my doctor and he’s away for a month. Has anyone gotten just the NIPT? I understand there is the 18week anatomy scan too but I would like to know sooner if I should be pushing for NT because there is a very short window I can get it.

Thanks!

Nursery Recliners [on]

For all the parents in Ontario looking at recliners from West Elm, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn Kids etc… why am I so shocked to learn that shipping the chair to my area is ranging from $300-500 and takes months! We love the $1500 higher end recliners and wanted to invest in one for the home and nursery, but having a hard time justifying the extra $500 for shipping. Barely any pick up options and that alone is going to be costly if we need to rent a U-haul. Has anyone been through this and any recommendations? Alternatives? Or should I just suck it up and pull the trigger on the shipping fee lol

Vegan stroller and car seat recs

Hi! Does anyone have the Nuna Mixx stroller and can confirm it’s vegan? If so, what car seats do you use because the Nuna Pipa car seat is not vegan (has wool). Looking for a luxury stroller that doesn’t have wool or leather but performs like UB and Nuna. I’ve read mixed reviews on Maxi Cosi. I’m contemplating the Bugaboo stroller (not sure which one yet) with a Clek Liing (Jersey material is vegan) car seat. Don’t love it as much but other than safety and functionality it needs to be vegan. Any feedback and recommendations on what you’ve used would help! Thank you
