Listening to the episode this morning and seeing Max’s post I think that adding in that social element to a match is a net positive. The only match that I have attended that did this has been the North Dakota state match and honestly that’s the reason I make the time to drive up to it and deal with the ridiculous hotels in Minot. This year and 2024 they had BBQ catered in their indoor range and gave everyone time to eat and socialize before doing the awards and prize table. I think it’s a good format for an after match social.

After mass downloading FOSS content as part of an archival push I have just north of 10,500 files that I would like to seed. But when I let them stay as seeding even if none are actively being pulled from it cripples the network. Is there some settings I can change in qbittorrent to help fix this or is there something I should try and fix within my network to resolve the issue? I have 1Gig symmetric up and down so bandwidth isn’t a worry and I did try setting bandwidth limits but those didn’t help.

I recently hopped into a push to archive some FOSS files (~600Gb) and most of it downloaded smoothly while I was gone for the weekend. Since I was gone I didn’t set any bandwidth limits since I didn’t care if it saturated the network. But since I’ve gotten back there are 8 files that have yet to download completely and if any of them are downloading no matter how low I set my bandwidth limits it brings the entire network to a crawl. I’m talking ten seconds to have google homepage start loading in slow. Is there anything I can do to be able to keep the torrents running and have the network be usable?

Since it will probably be asked no I am not running a VPN or proxy currently since I don’t have any legal concerns regarding these downloads.

Long shot, but will anyone be shooting staff day that I could bum a Glock mag with an extension from? The ones I ordered are not going to make it in time and it would be nice to have more than 17rds in the gun for my first mag.
