We irrigated the wound what do we do now?
Our GSD got sprayed by a skunk Saturday night. Luckily Walmart had one skunk shampoo left and we bathed her several times in it. But where she got sprayed in the face still has lingering skunk scent. Anything we can do to help get rid of the smell?
I have a Buff Orpington that just started laying less than 2 weeks ago. She’s laid every 2-3 days, but only had 1 viable egg. The rest were soft shelled.
Every other hen I’ve had has only laid one, maybe two, soft shelled eggs then went to normal egg laying.
They are fed layer crumble and have free choice calcium.
I followed the recipe below for the cinnamon rolls. I had leftover dough so I turned that into a boule and baked it at 450F covered for 20 mins and uncovered at 400F for another 15 mins. They turned out great!!

So proud of this fluffy butt. This is Goose my Light Brahma hen. Her and I went through it when she was a chick. She got pasty butt several times the first few days I had her and since these were my first chicks I was convinced she wasn’t going to make it. But we made it through that first hard week (and that one time she tried to hang herself by her foot in the brooder) and now she’s close to joining the other girls in laying!
I noticed today that my hens comb is dark on the tips nearly purple. She’s still eating, drinking and doing regular chicken things, but I wasn’t sure if this is normal.
She’s a buff Orpington, around 20 weeks old, and not yet laying.
My chickens were picking the good stuff out of their feed and wasting a lot so I switched them to pellets. I started with a mix and slowly worked them to just pellets. But now they seem to turn their beaks to it and wait for table scraps or free range time to eat.
Anything I can do to help them eat their pellets or do I give into the feathered terrorists and give them their mash back?
For everyone who saw my hens first egg earlier this week (pic 2), we finally broke it open and it’s a DOUBLE YOLK!!!
It’s our first edible egg! We’re so excited!!!
My chickens are around 16 weeks old and one of them has started squatting for pets. How long until I should expect some eggs?
