Okay, so today I went to pick up my Pop Pop’s medicine and the super sweet lady at the counter asked if I had a sister. She said someone who looked VERY similar to me picked up my grandfather’s medicine last time. I was like, “Ummm… that was probably me.” 😅 She looked at me and said, “Oh my God, did you lose weight?!”

Y’ALL. 😭 It hit me that this woman thought I was my own sister because of how much weight I’ve lost!

And the timing couldn’t have been more perfect because I HIT MY GOAL YESTERDAY! 🥹🎉

Nowwww… have I already moved the goalpost another 10 pounds? Absolutely. 😂 But I haven’t been at this weight in over 10 years, and I’m just overwhelmed and so grateful.

Grateful for this community and all the support and encouragement, grateful to Gimme for the access and provision, and beyond thankful for this medicine and what it has made possible for me. 🥹🧡

So, I’ve seen quite a few posts lately from people who have lost the weight but are still struggling with their bodies. Loose skin, losing your butt (I can relate lol squats seem like a distant aim 🤣), boobs disappearing 😅, or finally reaching that number and realizing you still don’t necessarily love what you see in the mirror.

It reminded me of something my therapist told me when I first started tirz: the meds can help change your body, but they can’t automatically change the way you see your body.

We talk a lot in here about protein, dosing, stalls, goal weights, even workout recs - but our minds need to catch up with bodies that are changing too.

And I know therapy can be expensive! So if that’s the hold up for you please check your insurance/EAP, sliding-scale therapists, community mental health centers, or even local colleges/universities that may offer lower-cost sessions!

I’m still on my own journey, (mentally and physically) but I don’t just want a body I want to live in. I want to actually like the person living in it at every stage. Therapy is helping me do that, and if you’re struggling to love the skin you’re in too, I hope this encourages you to take care of your mind along the way. 🧡

Am I weird y’all?! Okay so I used to weigh myself every shot day, once a week, like clock work.

But lately I’ve realized I’ve developed this weird habit of only weighing myself on days when I feel lighter. 😅 If I’m bloated, retaining water, or it’s shark week (aunt flow if you’re fancy), I’m acting like the scale doesn’t exist. 😂

I’ve seen this book posted so often in this Reddit - I finally GOT IT! I’m only a few chapters in but it’s so good!

I’ll admit some things initially threw me - like Dorothy would never say “doll” lol you know things that just don’t sound like them? But then I realized I had a choice - I could critique or enjoy the ride, I chose the latter 😎

Here’s the thing lol. A while back I loved ProRX, and if I understand correctly, Apothecary is also a 503B pharmacy.

My question is: how likely is it that my new fave eventually goes the way of my former fave?

I’ve seen customer service reps in a few groups mention Apothecary may be increasing their BUDs, which (in my completely non-expert opinion 😂) makes me think they’re planning to stick around as a solid additive-free option for the long haul.
Which would be AMAZING.

I’m also very much a planner, so I’d like to wrap my head around whether I should be thinking about alternatives now or if I’m getting ahead of myself.

To be abundantly clear; I haven’t seen or read anything that leads me to believe Apothecary is stopping tirz production. I just genuinely love Apothecary and as a former ProRX girlie who got caught off guard once and is trying not to get caught off guard twice. 😅😂

Okay yall so I’ve been on this Tirzepatide journey for a little while now (since February), and this week my scale actually went up almost 2 pounds. And I was devastated - I’m dramatic so I was like frantically trying to figure out what I did differently. What went wrong? Did the medicine stop working? Had I built up a tolerance? Literally all the things lol (you can see the lil uptick in my shotsy!) I know it’s not that deep but again - drama queen here lol

Anyway so today I ran into one of my best friends at work. We see each other in passing other at church, but not really ya know? The first thing she said when she saw me was, “Omg! Girl, you look like a baby!” Lol

I laughed because - girl what? Lol but she went on to say I look as small as I did when she first met me about 10 years ago! 🥹

Y’all… I can’t even explain how much that meant to me! It’s so wild how the simplest words from someone who has seen you through years of ups and downs, can say something and like literally turn your frown upside down. 🤣

I know it’s a small NSV - but idk it was a perfect reminder for me that progress isn’t always depicted or derailed by what the scale says!

Being a Southern girlie myself, I already love pecan pie. But somehow, despite years of watching Golden Girls, I had never actually tried a mint julep.

Well this weekend, I was at a restaurant and spotted one on the menu. Y’all, I was ECSTATIC. After all these years, I was finally about to have my Blanche Devereaux moment. 🤣

Okay I just wanted to share a positive experience because Reddit has not been feeling Gimmie lately at all lol 🤣

I ordered through Gimme on Tuesday and my Apothecary order literally arrived yesterday (Friday). I was honestly shocked after seeing so many posts about 20+ day delays.

For context:
• I’m a returning customer from ProRX and used the discount code (thank you Chloe!)
• specifically requested Apothecary
• staying at 6mg instead of titrating up after speaking with the doctor and support (received answers to my questions in under 24 hours)
• customer service was super kind and responsive

Everything arrived super cold, packaged well, and exactly as requested! I EVEN GOT BONUS MEDICATION!

Look I know experiences can vary, but I wanted to post just in case this gives somebody else a little peace of mind and once again THANK YOU GIMMIE! My birthday is on Monday yall and this feels like the best birthday gift ever! Lol 🎉💃

Monday shot day people TAP IN lol today is shot day and im so excited 🤣 I did some DAMAGE this past weekend (not too bad but I ate like 1200 calories a day plus liquor so - iykyk lol) cause it was by pre-birthday celebration so a time was had lol I’m dreading the scale but I’m so glad it’s shot day and I can get back on track!

So…idk lol it honestly feels like I’m accepting an award because I truly would not be here without the encouragement, insight, honesty, and support from you all!

I officially sashayed into ONEDERLAND today!!! AHHHHH!! 💃🏾🥹😭💃🏾

This also includes my shift from ProRX to Hallandale, which I was definitely nervous about at first because I was scared it wouldn’t be as effective for me. But I lost the exact same amount this week as I did the week before, which made me feel SO much better.

My first Hallandale shot did burn a little. Not in a scary or unbearable way at all, but after being used to absolutely no pain with injections, it was definitely a noticeable shift for me. HUGE thank you to the people in this group who suggested letting the medication sit out and get closer to room temperature before injecting because that tip helped me tremendously. Took my second shot today there was almost no burning at all!

Seriously, thank y’all for creating a space where people can ask questions, spiral a little lol, celebrate wins, and learn from each other without judgment. I’m so grateful for this group and just really excited and proud that I DID IT!!! Yay me!!! 😭🥳 (That’s a reference to Suite Life yall lol 🤣)

Now I haven’t run into this yet because I haven’t restored confidence in this arena just yet - but I do find myself wondering what dating looks like or will look like as I get closer to my goal weight.

Most notably - I wonder if folks who would likely never have dated me when I was at my biggest would be interested in me now and how that would make me feel.

I know this is probably more of a question for my therapist than for you all but I am very curious how folks navigate dating as you’re losing or after hitting your goal? Is there a shift in the type of people who approach you? Would you date someone who previously wouldn’t have been interested?

So I’m not sure how often the poll was posted in here - I know for sure I saw it at least once! But sheesh yall really aren’t riding with Gimmie huh? Lol

I guess my experience with them is more of an outlier lol I can’t say I haven’t (yes I know it’s a double negative) seen the dissension in this sub, but idk I’m just surprised!

In truth before I decided to go with Gimmie back in February I did a lot of research and part of what sold me on Gimmie was reading this pinned post of Where to Buy: Telehealth Providers on the main Tirz page. Just kinda sucks to see Gimmie’s rep drop so swiftly!
