Any tips on a better looking replacement? I tried the keyboard from the "essentials" app and looks nice but works very bad

Haven't played a football game for more than a decade, found out about FL26 and having a ton of fun, but, what do I do wrong in defense? It feels like if I fart next to an opponent I get a yellow card, I started understanding how scivolata (when you press square, sliding tackle, sry I'm Italian) works, how to time it and stuff, but still sometimes it feels like players have an ankles magnet on the bottom of their shoes, but like, for example, if I double X next to a player it's like an instant yellow card, same if sometimes I use circle to push second player to press on the ball, there is a too high chance of a stupid foul or even a yellow card. I know the game pushes more on cutting pass lines, positioning and closing spaces, but sometimes the ball just slides next to the player I'm controlling. Am I missing some key combinations or smth? Any tips?

As the title says, been a long time Apple user, (and windows phone before it died, Nokia Lumia 1020 I miss you). Bought this year a Xiaomi 15, their Collab with Leica made me buy it (and the compact form factor). Pretty happy with the experience, but I feel like I missed a lot since I wasn't daily driving an android phone since more than a decade, It would be so nice to hear some tips, apps suggestions and stuff you guys think are useful
