how do i know what’s important enough to take notes on in a textbook? (general science)

i always really struggle with note taking because even when i use note taking methods, i’m just not sure what from my text reading is important enough to make notes on in my notebook. like right now i’m doing general high school science so there’s random names like people who invented what, various chem equations, terms/definitions, what types of things do what, etc. it just feels like a bunch of disconnected little facts and i never know how to categorize them or whether they’re actually worth writing down.

my notes always end up feeling like random information crammed onto one page instead of something organized and useful. i want them to be clearer and easier to study from instead of just copying everything from the textbook.

how do you decide what’s actually important enough to put in your notes? like how do you tell the difference between “this is a core concept i need to understand” vs “this is just a random detail the textbook included”?

affordable body lotion that won't clog pores?

looking for an affordable body lotion i can use for my oily skin. i have acne on my chest, back, and shoulders, and my oily skin is a big contributor. i ALWAYS have clogged pores and large pores on my shoulders and chest.

any additional product recommendations that aren't specifically lotion are also very welcomed :)

ELI5: How does the body know where eyes, limbs, and bones go during development?

what determines, during development in the womb, that we end up with two eyes side by side instead of one eye on our forehead and another on our cheek? and how does the body “know” how many limbs to grow? what prevents a human fetus from developing with something like a snake-shaped body or proportions completely unlike a human’s?

also, where do a fetus’s flesh and bones even come from? does the body basically build them from the nutrients the mother provides, or does it somehow “fabricate” them out of nowhere?

ELI5: why does bone cancer cause spikey bone growth?

to be completely honest, i’m not really sure how cancer itself works, and the only “physical” side of it i’d really seen before was the effects chemo has on the body. so when i saw x-ray images of people with bone cancer having these spiky growths coming off the bone, i was genuinely blown away. i’d never seen anything like that before. why does bone cancer cause that?

how do i give a man a mind blowing experience

i always feel like i’m kind of a generic and boring sex partner and i wanna do more for my partner. my head game is kinda lame and i feel a little boring in bed 😭 not saying this because i feel pressured or anything, i just genuinely wanna please him more and i don’t have a ton of experience. so if anyone has any tips or tricks on how to REALLY please a man, pls let me know LOL. i never fail to make him finish, i just wanna add more “wow” to my game and give him one of those mind blowing unforgettable experiences

i've heard the underside of the tip is really sensitive, or back scratching, hair grabbing, trailing your tongue from their shaft to their mouth, idk, those kinds of things i guess?

(i know a lot of it depends on the person but id like hear what works for you guys personally, things i haven't thought of and want to try with him)

is it normal to not moan during sexual stimulation?

i know that women in porn videos tend to really exaggerate moaning but the times i've had sex, masturbated, or been touched that way by a man, i just don't moan? i've heard people say that they have to hold their moans back but i don't even have anything to hold back??😭

like am i supposed to feel like im holding back a moan? i like when people are a bit vocal during sex, but id have to "force" moan if i wanted to because i feel like it just doesn't happen naturally. am i doing something wrong?

give me your best unhinged, last-resort, 100% success methods for disciplined studying.

i have less than a month to catch up on 6 months worth of work across 4 classes. (yeah yeah, i know, my fault. but i’m genuinely determined to pass this year even though my motivation is basically nonexistent and my discipline is somehow even worse.)

i need your absolute best, last-resort, slightly unhinged methods, tips, and tricks to force myself into locking in and studying.

so far, i’ve been charging my phone downstairs at night so i HAVE to physically get up to go on it in the morning, which at least wakes me up and gets me out of bed. i also scheduled a really embarrassing photo to post in a few hours and i’m not allowed to cancel it until i finish my assignment.

i have pretty bad compulsive skin picking and i do it subconsciously all the time. i pick at my arms, scalp, face, back, nails, basically anywhere i can.

the biggest part of it for me is the sensation, that pressure and relief feeling like popping a pimple or scratching a flake off my scalp. i’m wondering what kinds of gadgets or fidget items people have found helpful for this?

i’m currently looking for a therapist to help with it (so i assume they'll recommend a few methods to keep my hands busy too), but i thought it would be nice to hear from others who deal with the same thing and see what’s worked for them :)

(since i do it mostly subconsciously while i’m doing other things, i’m looking for something to keep my hands busy and maybe give a bit of that same pressure/relief feeling, if that’s even possible. ideally something that doesn’t need a lot of attention or focus, but i’ll take any recommendations, even more time-consuming ones for when the urge is really strong)
