Diawa or Shimano?

Is there a big difference in the feel between the two? Like the startup inertia and drag? will a shimano feel like i have a lot more resistance when reeling?

I am trying to decide on a reel to pair with a medium tatula xt and I am thinking maybe the new freams or ultegra (jdm). the freams is much lighter tho and i think i have to go heavier. I have a 2500 regal lt that i took off of the medium rod and I put that one on a new medium light tatula xt and it balances way better on that so it will stay there. when that reel was on the medium, it was slightly tip heavy. so i am leaning towards a ultegra 3000 because it will have a bit more weight to it and thus balance more evenly. I am just concerned that i might not like the way shimanos feel compared to a diawa though. anyone with both have any input? is there really much difference? the ultegra would have the worm gear and also the anti twist fin looks great.

Dangly Tail Surprise

I was just out making a few dangly tail casts and i get a message from a friend so i killed my retrieve and was responding to him and was a few sentences in and i feel a small tug. I figured i maybe had a small fish nip at it and so i start to reel and then my drag starts ripping and all of a sudden i am in an epic battle. Eventually the big bass got tired. You can see the bg-1 jighead by his mouth. What a lure! So much fun

Ifishtackle’s dangly tails are the greatest ul lure ever made.

I am a total believer in these things. feel like ive wasted a lot of money on other lures now. i caught 7 bass and 9 bluegills today on one dangly tail and last saturday in the creek i caught prob over 40 redbreast sunfish, 5 bluegills, and two bass. id still be on my first bait and jig too probably if i didnt get a snag because they are indestructible.

New to Ultralight Fishing

Put together this budget rig of a the ‘26 Diawa crossfire 1000 lt and a 6’ Okuma celilo and looking forward to diving in. Nabbed my first bluegill on it. I live on a small community pond and started fishing it a month ago and have landed some big largemouths but want to try something new and see more species. I know there are bluegill, sundfish, crappie, and largemouths in it. cheers

Got my first fish on a whopper plopper!

2.2 lbs on a whopper 90! phew! thought for a while there I might have wasted $13. took a bit of time to finally have one hit it.
