In about 3 weeks, I’ll be bringing home my 9-week-old Havanese girl (born 4/1) 🤎

I live in Southern CA (South OC), and I’m currently trying to figure out pet insurance before she comes home. For those of you living here, what insurance do you personally have and would recommend based on your experience?

I currently have Nationwide for my 6-year-old Coton, and while it USED to be a great plan, things definitely changed over the years 😅 I really want something solid and reliable for my puppy — a company that won’t suddenly raise premiums outrageously, reduce coverage, or drop us down the road for some reason.

I keep going back and forth between Trupanion, AKC, ASPCA, Spot, etc., and honestly… I don’t even know anymore 😂

I’d really appreciate hearing your exact recommendations — which company/plan you chose, why you like it, what your premium looks like if you’re comfortable sharing, and whether they’ve been fair with claims and renewals.

Also, why do so many breeders recommend Trupanion specifically?

Would love to hear real experiences, especially from California/South OC dog owners — good or bad. Thank you!!
