Is my family right about me?
Hi, so I’m currently 17 years old and get a lot of complaints about me being too quiet. Most of the complaints come from family members or relatives. Everyone says that I never speak or engage in conversations, which is partially true. I’ll speak to someone if they speak to me first. But recently, it’s gotten out of hand. Everywhere I go, people only have one thing to say about me: “you’re so quiet” “how do you keep your mouth shut for that long?”
frankly, it’s getting quite annoying. I’ve been a naturally quiet person since I was a kid, I never have much to say. But I do sometimes believe I can overdo it on being too quiet. My coaches, classmates, teachers, family, and friends tell me that they’ve never seen anyone as quiet as me. How do I fix this? I had a hard time making friends because of this as well.
It’s hard to explain, but whenever people are engaging in a conversation with me, I don’t want to respond, I just want to listen and react with my face.
