Venting about cruel budgie breeding facilities
If you guys have seen the recent video of a budgie breeding facility in Oklahoma you'll probably know what I mean. I'm just....I can't explain the feeling from it. It's horrible. I have the mental image of the head of a decapitated budgie burned into my psyche. I don't like PETA and very rarely agree with what they say but that is just, oh my God.
I'm not against the humane breeding and husbandry of budgies and other birds, I just really hate seeing these factory-style breeding facilities. I'm trying to keep self-control from looking up information on this exact breeding facility because it'll just make me upset. If I ever get another bird in the future I'm not going to get one from PetSmart or Petco. Most likely a breeder, rescue, or a small independent store that actually KNOWS how to humanely raise birds (which are far and few in between). I just...I don't know what else to say. I'm speechless. Those poor babies. 💔
(Here are my babies. They're my life.)
