I just got my first hamster and she seemed to like me at first. I gave her time to get acclimated to her enclosure and everything.

Today I tried to bond with her by giving her fruits and vegetables to snack on like freshly cut apples, blueberries, and carrots. She seemed to love them. However shortly after eating she bit my finger and went to the corner of the clean empty room that I let her roam in. She seemed stressed so I let her calm down before moving her back onto her enclosure.

Any advice on how to make my hamster more comfortable?

Thankfully the meds are helping, otherwise I'd evict this stinky creature.

context: she has a bad uti that antibiotics didn’t help and it developed into a big lump that couldn’t be removed by the vets even if they tried and she’s in pain so it’s her time </3 she’s been given painkillers so she’s feeling okay and she still runs out for snacks and water like she doesn’t even know what’s going on.

She’s so greedy and eats everything like this food was supposed to last her the rest of the month but she ate it all already. And I find stashes of hidden food she must’ve stole from me! I don’t even know what to do about this anymore!

Even on wholesome, unjerked comments I still get one single downvote from some sad ham. It’s fascinating!

He’s either planning for world domination or he’s plotting my demise. I better add an extra cage lock tonight for my own safety.
