Prepping for new Hamster!
Hey Everyone!!!!
I will be getting a hamster in October (I am competing in a nationally-qualified dock diving event with our lab in October and will be gone for a week!), but I am starting to acquire supplies. I had a hamster for four years while I was in college and I loved her dearly. I've been wanting another hamster, and decided the time is right. I want to make sure he/she has everything they need, and I'm currently look at this cage. Does anyone have it? Good experiences? Bad experiences?
I noticed that PetSmart has buy one, get one 50% off on all small animal bedding, chews, hideaways, etc. I've been reading reviews on products and avoiding ones that people say in reviews aren't safe for hamsters. Is it a good time to stock up on some things while they are BOGO 50% off?
My husband is somewhat concerned about smells, and while I don't remember the enclosure smelling when I had my hamster in college, I told him I'd be conscious of it. Any tips and tricks to make sure the enclosure doesn't smell without totally disrupting the hamster's space and stressing it out?

Can Anyone Run Just One Device??
Because I sure can’t!!!! When the batteries died on my Paradise devices, I decided not to start them up again. I thought maybe I was feeling a little burnt out, so I started up my Angel Festival Uni. Which immediately led to starting two more Unis. Becasue apparently that will help with burnout lol. Why am I like this???? 😂
Anyway, I’m enjoying my Unis…all three of them at once!!!

I thought I’d be able to whip out some Tamagotchi charms, and they looked SO cute in my head. The reality of them is very different haha. My artistic skills could clearly use some work!

Traveling Tamas!
This is the PERFECT little $5 pencil pouch for hauling my Tama kids around. It folds open for at home use, and then zips up to easily protect and carry your devices when you’re out and about. The zipper compartment easily holds extra batteries and a small screwdriver and I could easily fit other devices in with these if need be. Makes running and taking multiple devices with you so simple!

Help! Not New To Apple, but new to MacBook!
I have retrievers who compete in field events and other dog sports, and I have been filming training sessions and events for a couple years now. I've been getting requests from people to post them online, and have started doing some light video editing in both Final Cut and Capcut on my iPad 10. It's not fantastic, and I'd like to look at making an upgrade to a MacBook Air. Most of my editing is going to be shortening videos, cutting and combining several videos, adding text over the video, music, etc. To be perfectly honest, I don't want to spend a ton of money on it so I'm looking at M2 and M3 cores. Is there a major difference between the two? The M2 is a brand new device, and the M3 is very gently used and in excellent condition. They are within $15 of each other, so essentially the same price. Are there any issues with buying a used device?

Zero Regrets!
I recently downgraded my collection by about half, and I REALLY wasn’t planning on getting either of the new Paradise devices.
Annnnddd then I saw all of the upgrades with this wave, saw how perfect the shells are in person and FOMO is real so….
Meet my new planet, Calypso! I am just so in love with this shell and the new games are so fun! Thanks to everyone in this sub for enabling me. 🤣

I’m Sad Today
Life has been life-ing lately, and my beloved Tamagotchis and other virtual pets have been neglected and sitting on my shelf. Today I decided to let about half of my collection go, and I listed them for sale.
Work has been crazy, I’m chasing a Master Hunter title with my lab, she’s competing at the national level in dock diving, we’re training multiple times a day and traveling all over the country to compete when gas is not cheap. I LOVE making all of these memories with my best girl. It’s worth every mile I drive and every cent I spend. But at some point, something had to give and one of my hobbies had to be scaled back.
I don’t regret listing them for sale. I want them to be played with and loved. But I’m still sad. They kept me sane through an ACL, MCL and meniscus repair surgery in 2023. They kept me sane through a cancer diagnosis and total hysterectomy in 2024. They kept me sane when we lost our sweet yellow lab two weeks after my hysterectomy when it felt like my entire world had been turned upside down and I could barely make it through each day.
They brought me so much joy—from the thrill of hunting them down, to unboxing them, to playing with them every day.
My only hope is that the joy they brought me gets passed along to someone else. But today I’m sad. And I’m going to let myself be sad. Because it’s actually pretty easy to get attached to a little character on a screen you take care of every day. ❤️
