Attending an exhibition, but tight on schedule

To anyone who's attended this year's exhibition, how long does it take to go through on average, from ticket check to the exit? I'd like to take a train back home that leaves ~2.5 hrs after the gates open and idk if that's gonna be enough time.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Hamboomer (2 years 3 months old) can't stop shitting his breeches 👎

Thankfully the meds are helping, otherwise I'd evict this stinky creature.

(Jokes aside, pray for his old, diarrhea-ridden ahh 🙏 Wet tail won't win on my watch)

Notice how the post does not mention BTS once

I think they'd combust if they didn't bring up their oppars when entirely unnecessary.

You can also imagine how many comments are about "That That".

Hampeasant eating the scraps, as he should

Didn't eat much, as it's not really his favorite food. Apparently beggars can be choosers 🙄

(Made sure there was no skin on avocado, so all safe)

TV remotes to be banned by the end of 2026

https://preview.redd.it/m3fgbmm6u29h1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=697e9d0b595a0eaa72bb67795f5bb221b85ddf4b

Governments worldwide have agreed to ban TV remotes as a measure to reduce battery usage. Discarded batteries pose a serious threat to the environment, as they release toxic substances into the soil and water. Statistically around 98% batteries bought are used for TV remotes, hence the decision to ban the devices entirely. Remotes will not only go out of production, but anyone caught owning a working one may face up to 2 years in prison.

Many TV owners expressed dissatisfaction, but government officials were quick to calm them down: "You can still switch channels and regulate volume with the buttons on your TV".

Should I cut my hair or is there any way to still salvage what's left?

I've been thinking of cutting my hair at around shoulder length for a while now. I reached my breaking point today when I grabbed it to brush it out and realized that it feels like half the volume it used to be. As a kid I used to chop my hair off as a coping mechanism, but having gotten over my teen angst, I've tried growing it out as long as possible and I'd hate to cut it shorter - then again I don't really have the means to get quality haircare and styling products. Also I don't accept returning to my original hair color as an option, as it's my self worth's last stand.

  • Hair history:

My natural hair color is dirty blonde and I've been bleaching it (Syoss 13-5 or 13-0) for 6 years now. Throughout those years I've used many random conditioners, oils and mists for brittle and damaged hair.

6 months ago I've embarked on a quest to save my damaged hair. Up to that point, I've never consciously cared for it and have done the bare minimum. Now I braid my hair and wear a silk scarf to bed, never use heat unless to style my bangs or for drying when in hurry (rare), brush with a wide-toothed comb instead of a brush, trim split ends every two months. Also, pressured by my mom, I recently swapped my regular Head & Shoulders shampoo for a Japanese one along with a Korean conditioner (she's in a very Asian time in her life), both no-name brands from TK Maxx.

I should also mention that I have a history of eating disorders, which definitely impacted my hair condition, most heavily around 2021 and December 2024. Currently I am doing decent diet-wise, I think.

  • The paradox:

I feel like my hair looked and felt much healthier, voluminous and overall better when I didn't care about its condition in the slightest. Now I'm pulling out strand after strand after every wash and during brushing the hair snaps almost right off - or I'm just paying more attention to it lately. I have no idea what happened or changed over that time to get as bad as it is now. Unfotunately I think I need to accept that for my hair to properly regenerate half of its length needs to go, but it still makes me want to cry lol

AI advertising

Along with prominent rise of AI in advertising, many Vinted sellers caught up on the trend. Lately it makes using the app unbearable for me, seeing all the slop that often has very little to do with the actual state of the item.

I've started reporting the items whenever I stumbled upon them, which resulted in listings being taken down 90% of the time. As a test, I've also tried reporting all items from a user that used AI enhanced images in around half their listings. Few hours later, the number of their items went down from 207 to 98. I've also tried reporting an entire account that had nothing but AI for the first pictures, but it proved fruitless unfortunately. I'm also trying to check how long it will take for a certain user to get banned - or if it's possible at all - for continuous reuploading of AI enhanced images of their clothes. In other words, breaking ToS again and again.

Is it THAT serious? Yes, I think it is. Not only is generative AI a selfish way to exploit the environment for the most trivial reasons, but also might open the gate for dishonest sellers to prey on those who are much less tech-fluent and don't really recognize they could be getting scammed with way-too-perfect images. After all, what a machine "imagines" the item looks like while worn can really differ from the actual results.

Do I feel like Vinted should apply new regulations or tools that deal with AI generated images more swiftly? Definitely. While reporting does the job, it can't be a permanent fix. The app is littered with AI slop recently and I doubt many people actually bother with reporting. Myself included. Outside of these few experiments I've mentioned, I have to admit I stopped bothering, as it's pretty much not my job. I just close the app instead.

I thought I was buying lace thigh highs. This is what was inside the packaging

I tossed the receipt on the way out of the store unfortunately. I'll try reselling them, I will not accept defeat.

edit: No selling. They're somehow different length too. Who tf would buy that.

edit2: I could upcycle them I guess?

No sound in PC after formatting

Initially after setting up my PC, I had an option to play audio from my screen speakers. I've formatted my PC recently and the screen isn't detected as an audio device anymore. I assumed something went wrong in the process and tried formatting again, only to see nothing changed. Screen drivers are up to date.

In case this matters: Windows 10 Home, 16 GB RAM, Radeon RX 580, Intel Core i5-6500, iiyama ProLite

Still better than AI

This food truck that had no generated imagery at all, just pure amateur photoshop. After seeing countless vendors advertising with AI slop, this felt like a glass of ice cold water at 3 am.

I'm 22f and I'm interested in everything. Pretty much. As long as I'm immediately good at it. There are exceptions of course, but I tend to ditch everything that refuses to go my way.

I love doing everything involving labs (except dishwashing)(dog breed also included). My most beloved subjects are ones that let me study things on a molecular and cellular level. If I manage to survive until my PhD, I want to contribute to restoring brown bears' population.

I have ADHD and my most effective studying hack is turning off any sources of light except for my iPad. If you can't see the distraction, it's not there.

My favorite color is blue.

None of my hamsters have died a tragic death. In fact I'm furious this trend exists, as it only makes light of how neglected rodents tend to be. I don't want to hear about none of those stories.

The most watched movie of mine is Heathers - I've lost count after 11th watch.

I've been vegetarian for around 8 years now, as I've always been too empathetic towards living beings.

I hate cars.

There is a patisserie near my campus that I always go to for lunch, despite the guilt about my sugar consumption. I'm actively trying to put everyone I know onto this place, no luck yet though.

My top 3 games are BDO, BG3 and Alice: Madness Returns.

I love doing picnics, but I only have my best friend and boyfriend to invite.

I'm running out of stuff to say about myself.

Bought 3 days ago and stored in lowest possible temperature. There were water droplets in the container, especially at the bottom. Is it mold or its own mycelium?
