So I have 223 marks in BITSAT 2026 and am alloted Msc Bio in Pilani and have accepted the seat.

Say I get Msc Chem Hyd in Itr5, should I take it?

The issue is should I prefer Msc Bio in Pilani or Msc Chem in Hyderabad?

If I shall prefer Msc Chem, is it worth losing 10%-20%of money over and sacrificing Pilani campus?

I don't really care about either of those subjects. Wanna know about academics tho.

Is there any unique reason this year for cutoffs to drop in ITR3 as compared to the previous years? As cutoffs were unchanged between Iterations 2 and 3 in last 5 years.

Or am i missing something? Since JOSAA effect should have ended with ITR2?

My calculation for cutoff drop:

Analysis 1: Overbooking

1. BITS have a total of 2800 seats (approximately)
2. Now, let's say they have overbooked for first iteration by about ~20%

Why 20%?

(a)For those who think its too high: BITS must have predicted a lot of students will withdraw due to parallel JOSAA. So they might have overbooked higher.

(b)For those who think its too low: BITS itr1 cutoffs were too high despite moderate-tough paper which depicts they might have not actually overbooked by a lot.

I came up with 20% by estimating the %age of overbooking in 2023 and 2024 with the help of various AI tools and self analysis and applying points (a) and (b) to them to come up with this number.

So, 2800 + 20% of 2800= 2800+526 seats full

Analysis 2: Effect of JOSAA on cutoff drop

This year IIT Bhubaneshwar CSE (Tier1 IIT) closed at 4500 rank in JOSAA R1.
Estimating around 2000 of top 4000 rankers of JEEA to have filled for BITS.

Why 50%?
It is based on past year trends+ early JOSAA.
50% might seem to be too simple but I have concluded it by rigorous analysis.

Now, due to dip in JOSAA cutoffs this year due to increased seats, more people got their desired branch and will quit.

Again through lot of Research i have estimated around 1300 can leave considering both:
a. Top 4000- JEEA rankers
b. Top 1000- JEEM rankers.

Now, ofcourse, the number of people leaving through JOSAA or other counselling is a lot higher than 1300. But this 1300 is where main game lies.

Because considering last years out of top 4000, only about 1500 would register for BITS and around 700-800 would leave.

This is the parallel JOSAA effect.

Now coming back,
these extra 800 seats when accounted through by overbooking create an approximate of 600-650 vacancies.

Again, going by past year approx trends and rough analysis+ sketching i can conclude around 80 vacancies may drop cutoff by 1 mark.

So through this analysis I would conclude that cutoffs must atleast drop a minimum of 7-8 marks for lower branches. (lower branches to account for exit distribution).
About 5-7 marks for upper branches.

You may question: Why did I only account for Vacancies created by these 1300? What about others?
Reasons:

1. Other vacancies occur every year which was accounted by me in the overbooking section which i deducted at last while calculating vacancies..
2. Top Adv scorers are BITS high scorers too.

I got a call from a very informal number like a regular one a normal guy would use. Not a company number. He told me he was from Amazon. He gave me the details of my order which I received yesterday including its cost. He said that my order wasn't verified as delivered(I check on Amazon and it was delivered but I didn't mention it as I thought it would be dumb). He sent me an OTP from **Amazon Verification (**verified tick on WhatsApp). It made me trust him enough to give him the OTP so he could verify the delivery. After giving him the OTP he insisted that my phone number didn't show the order.(I have two Amazon accounts with the same number, it logins randomly so I never really cared) After which I gave an excuse and cut the call.

After 2-3 mins I got suspicious and googled the issue which made me aware of a possible scam.

I changed the password and signed out all device within 5 mins.

He didn't call back.

I have a few particular questions:

1. How did he know my Amazon Order?
2. What benefit would be for him to have my Amazon account?
3. Was it a possible scam or am i just overthinking?

I'd appreciate if anyone helps me out!

Did anyone get Msc Bio at 227-229? ApexBits updated it from 227 to 231...what's the reason?

Everyone should withdraw from counselling after itr1 because Birla is clearly incompetent. Don't join such a college!! If it is this way right now, imagine what they will do to you in college so trust me and withdraw!

Every minute iteration 1 result is delayed, 1 marks is subtracted from cutoff.
