My (26 F) friend (27 F) wants me to try and set her up with my bassist (25 M). Would this be inappropriate or unprofessional?

Hey guys so this is probably not the typical kind of post in this sub, please delete if not allowed.

I have a friend who is a really nice girl and has had a rough go of it romantically. She’s been trying to get back out there into the dating world and asked me if my bassist was single the other day. I told her I don’t know because I honestly don’t. She asked me if I would try and set them up on a blind date of sorts. They never met in person, she just saw him tagged in one of my Instagram posts from a festival we played.

My dynamic with my band mates is mostly professional. We are friendly and joke around with one another but we don’t really hang out outside of rehearsing and performing. This is largely due to the fact that the other two members, my guitarist and drummer are in their 40s and either live kind of far or are married with young kids and don’t have a ton of free time. We don’t really discuss personal or romantic things and keep things mainly focused on music.

The reason I’m considering it is because based on my limited knowledge of my bassist’s personal life, I could actually see him and my friend hitting it off. They’re also similar in age and they live close to each other. I just don’t know if this would be weird or come across this immature or unprofessional.

Let me know if any of you guys have had a similar experience and have any advice. Thanks.

ISO Advice, does this look too polished?

This photo is going to be used for a song cover, and I wanted to get rid of the redness and even the skin without it looking fake. I’m not a pro by any means so I can’t tell if it’s okay or looks cartoonish or just not good. Unedited original is on the left. Any advice helps, thanks!

Warning to self employed recipients (PA)

I just got off the phone with my caseworker trying to resolve loss of SNAP benefits. They were taken due to the new rule saying we need to provide proof that we work 20 hours a week. Since I am self-employed, I called and asked how I am supposed to do it.

The caseworker remained professional, and while she didn’t come right out and say it, she all but admitted it will be extremely difficult if not impossible to continue receiving benefits if you are self-employed. From her perspective, she said they can’t take us on our word and our own personal logs aren’t enough on their own, even when backed up by checks and memos from clients.

The most crucial piece of information: she warned me that in 2027, this rule will be extended to Medicaid.

TLDR - If you are self employed and currently on Medicaid, either call your caseworker and find out exactly what documents you will eventually need to provide to continue receiving your medical benefits or find other insurance before 2027.

How many breaks do you all take for a 2.5 hour gig?

Just curious to see what’s commonplace for everyone else.

Typically, I take 2 breaks during a 3 hour gig (one full hour set followed by two 15 minute breaks and 45 minute sets) and one 10-15 minute break during a 2 hour gig.

Every once in a while, a venue requests a 2.5 hour gig which I’ve always found a little awkward when it comes to structuring sets and breaks. It doesn’t feel quite long enough to take two breaks, but too long to only take one.

In the past, I’ve alternated between taking two small breaks and one longer one (about 20 minutes) about an hour and 15 minutes in.

What do you all do?

Success everywhere but Mercari

Hey all, I’m just curious, do any of you do especially well on Mercari or make at least some sales through it?

I’ve been at it for a little over a month and post on Depop, EBay, Vinted, Poshmark, and Mercari, and I do well everywhere except there. I’ve sold just under 100 items on Vinted, about 10 give or take on the other platforms each, and literally zero on Mercari. I just thought it was strange and wondered if I’m missing out on a trade secret or using the platform wrong.

I do use Sellraze to crosspost, so maybe that has something to do with it? Also, I mainly sell clothes but sometimes sell collectibles and toys. Anyway, I’m just curious to hear everyone’s thoughts, thanks!

Thank god I didn’t give whoever this is my address

I’m obviously disgusted and a little bummed. I’m just starting to learn everything about flipping, my best friend and I are doing it together and having a lot of fun with it. I was so excited about this sale. Everything seemed so normal up until this happened. Did I miss an obvious sign earlier or was there really no way to tell? And do I have to be prepared to get more messages like this as opposed to actual interested buyers?
