Vanity plates just came in for the TSE! I like em, but I’m wondering how many 4x4 people this may piss off? 🤷🏾

Passport did absolutely amazing this weekend while camping. Road there was pretty rough, I aired down to 25 psi to soften things up a bit. Had zero issues with traction. Even managed to get a wheel a bit into the air!
Just threw it on tonight but dang does it look good! Will be testing the new roof box this weekend at Shasta lake for camping. Just thought some of y’all would want to see the fit. The cross bars are some Amazon cross bars.
Picked up a set of cheap Amazon mud guards. Install is straight forward, two factory screws can be used to secure the rear ones and two clips and a screw for the front ones. I recommend turning your front wheels to give you more access while installing the front ones. You’ll need a clip puller as well to remove the two front clips. They are square shaped with two teeth opposite of each other that grab onto the body. Push in the teeth as you remove the clip. Recommend installing the clips with the teeth facing up and down for easier removal in the future.
Overall, they don’t look too bad for $40 lol they’re a bit thin but the fitment itself is pretty good. Now we’ll see how they last the test of time 🤞

Added some fun additions to the PP today, tinted the fogs with a glossy orange tint and added Amazon rain visors to the windows! Also got Amazon mud flaps coming in this week, will make another post once those are installed! Either way loving the look of the orange on the fog!

Hey all, just wanted to share my diy install experience with the Viofo A229 plus dash cam. Just bought my 26 passport TSE about a month ago and have already had some close calls (Bay Area traffic), so a dash cam was a must. Installation was pretty straightforward and should take about an hour or so.
I started by mounting the rear camera to the liftgate, it wasn’t too difficult to remove the top trim piece on the lift gate, just pull straight out towards you. It’s held on my some plastic clips. The rubber dust shield for the harness pulls straight out and will have the wiper fluid hose running through it into the headliner. Drop the headliner trim piece straight downwards, also held on by plastic clips.
It was pretty easy to route the wiring up around the headliner just stuff it in as you go. Peel off the top portion of the door seals for better access as well. For the driver side a-pillar trim, use a thin trim tool or thin flat head screwdriver in order to lift the tab and expose the 8mm bolt. Remove the bolt and pull out top of a-pillar, but don’t remove the a-pillar completely. Also make sure that you’re running the cable underneath your side airbag not over it! Now just run the rest of the wire under the headliner and rear view mirror cover to where you’ve decided to mount your dash cam.
Now to power the dash cam, I hard wired it to the fuse box using Viofo’s fuse jumper kit. The kit is pretty straight forward and will come with different fuse types depending on your vehicle. The one I used for the passport was the one with the extra slot for the original fuse. I also didn’t have a wire crimper but some pliers and elbow grease works just fine. Now check your manual/fuse box diagram for your own placement, but I wired the red cable (always on/hot) to fuse #40 which is the driver seat slide and wired the yellow cable(switch power) to fuse #43 which is the aircon fuse. The ground cable can be secured to a grounding bolt underneath one of the computers. Once done I stuffed the box and excess cabling behind the lower a-pillar trim and routed the power cable up to dash cam. Make sure to route it underneath your side curtain airbag!
FYI getting parking mode to work for the first time was a bit finicky for me. Had to factory reset the dashcam after inputting all my settings. Also make sure that when you shut off the vehicle, the dash cam audibly tells you that parking mode has been activated, otherwise you run the risk of draining your battery quickly, overheating your dash cam, or it just being completely off.
Either way, thanks for the read and good luck on all your DIY adventures fellow Passport Redditors!
First post on the sub! Just picked up this TSE beast on sat! Loving it so far! Also PSA for dog owners who don’t want to cough up the $300 for the Honda pet cage, if you have the cargo net it can work as a cheap alternative. You just need to remove the covers from the headliner and attach some bolts with washers to the predrilled and tapped holes for the pet cage.
