I have a Acer chromebook plus 714 ( intel i5 with 8gb of memory 256gb ssd that I bought about 2 years ago. After the latest update it kept going into a continuous bootloop of installing system updates and then crashing and then trying again.

I ended up trying to recover and got the device working again (using a system restore usb drive) but then it autoupdated and went back to bootlooping.

I repeated this a few times and tried to stop the auto update but it kept trying to update and then repeat the bootloop. After the last time it stopped being able to recover at all and hangs on system restores now from either the usb drive or the web recovery.

I am at a loss now.

Any suggestions ?

Mysubaru subscription is about to run out (3 years covered by initial purchase) and I was wondering if anyone ever recieved a coupon or discount to renew? I see people talking about is it worth it or not but not if they ever get a discount .

I like the app but not at 100 bucks each service. Maybe half or 60 usd.

I am hoping they will throw a promo my way just before it expires but so far its been crickets.

--edit -- it see the price now is 150 usd for both for a year. I used to see 100 for each per year in the app..

I remember them saying they were going to ask some to have the option of paying more to keep dhl shipping because prices went up. But I don't think I got that, and I was happy to receive a message about tracking number issued but then found it was 4px when I originally paid for dhl. I would have considered paying a bit more cover the price increase but I don't think I was ever given the option.

Was anyone else ?

Looks like the place has been closed up but Google still lists the business as active. That place had the best roast pork and roast duck in the area I think. Also a curry pork skin with fish ball dish that also was better than most.

Anyone know what happened to them ?

I have pop os on my old surface pro 3. It was given new life with pop os since it barely ran windows 10... on the latest update to cosmic it seems especially finicky with my external hard drives. Basically I keep getting errors trying to mount certain hard drives but these hard drives load up fine on windows machines.

Also I can't get gparted or any disk tools to load up now on cosmic.

Any way to downgrade back to the previous version ?
