Word of Caution: Wipe off descale solution immediately

I was descaling my brushed stainless steel breville with dezcal today and let the droplets sit on the body of the machine for 15+ minutes. Afterwards, as I was washing the drip tray, the drop marks were not going away from the stainless steel part. To my dismay, I discovered they were all over the front part of the body, and neither vinegar nor baking soda wiped them off.

Fast forward, it took hours of rubbing it with stainless steel cleaner/polish to dim/fade the marks. It looks much better now but they are still there.

Anyways, hope this prevents folks making the same mistake.

How to Prevent Scratches on the Robot?

I got a q10 s5+ a few months ago and it already has scratches on the sides behind the front bumper because of how often it bumps into furniture.
My cousin got a qv 35a about year ago and it looks like a decade-old bot because of how bad it is scratched. Now I’m worried mine will become like that.

Side note/feedback: really wish roborock had wrapped the entire circumference in rubber so it would absorb some of the impact/prevent scratches.

Dynamic Ventilation Mystery

To bring everyone up to speed, dynamic ventilation system refers to the auto switching between All, Front, and Driver modes based on door events and seat censors.

I’ve noticed, regardless of which mode it is on, all the vents blow air equally; No difference observed whatsoever between modes. Is this what everyone is experiencing?

The manual says the system will automatically direct airflow based on the mode but that is clearly not happening. I asked the dealer as well and they had no clue!

EDIT: if you’re seeing a difference, plz let me know if you have the climate control on Auto mode and what vent mode you have it on as well. Thx!

EDIT 2: I imagine the downvotes mean you’re seeing a difference? If that is the case please say so and specify your exact HVAC configuration cause given the responses I’m about to go to the dealer and bug them until they fix my system.

Metallic Grinding When Cold Starting

So I got a brand new 2026 Crosstrek a few months ago and have had this problem (?) with it since the beginning. When I let it sit for 3-4 days and then start it, I hear a metallic rattling/grinding noise for 2-3 seconds from the engine bay right after the engine catches and is just entering the fast idle state.

I took it to the dealer after a few weeks of driving it and they couldn’t reproduce the problem, I’m guessing because they tried after only a day of it sitting; it needs to sit for multiple days. So basically they didn’t do anything about it.

I read somewhere it could be due to bleed down from the hydraulic tensioning system of the timing chain, but I don’t know if that person was specifically experiencing my exact problem.

Anyways, I’d appreciate any help or thoughts cause this has been driving me nuts.
