Thanks for to new sub members!
I appreciate all of you. I didn’t even think we’d get to 300 sub members at all last year.
Here’s to more of you! 🥂

My old sensor rear vertical aim sensor cracked from corrosion and allowed water ingress to destroy the sensor. After replacing it I can finally see down the road at night in unlit conditions. Such an easy and effective fix.i don’t have to rely on my full beams anymore
I wanna get some side extensions but I can’t find anything that I like. Anyone got suggestions or pics of theirs?
It was a bit of a ball ache to fit but looks much cleaner imo. Coded the rear wiper washer out as well. Very happy with the result just need to wash the car now!
I checked the fuses all looks good, taken out the blower motor and that looks fine too. Bearing is fine and not seized resistance looks good. When I press the fan speed button nothing happens. I can hear the flaps opening but no error codes or anything. I’m at a loss. I’ve attached only 2 codes that were appearing related to the air conditioning system but from what I can tell it had nothing to do with the issue I’m having. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
Got a few bumper adjustments to do but she’s back better than ever.
I’ve reported it via the feedback app. Hopefully gets fixed for next beta.
I don’t want to allow repost g from my sub and I’m not sure where to find the setting to disable this.
Much appreciated for any help with this. Thanks.
I’ve managed to find all the missing and broken plastic bits and undertray/wheel arch linings and I’ve also changed the cooler stack entirely because it was all pretty badly mangled.
Just waiting on my replacement bumper to be finished off in black sapphire metallic 475 and we should be good to go!
Been a long month sourcing parts, researching how the front end is put together without the parts physically there for reference. I ended up pulling an all nighter last night to get it back together but I’m pretty happy with it all.
I’m very glad I saved this car from being rebuilt by someone else. Might not have been worth it to some but this car got me massively into BMW and appreciate the work that goes into the ultimate driving machine.
Thank you guys for joining the community and making it more cosy!
We officially hit 250 members! Thanks to everyone for joining and making this community a great place to hang out. That's 249 more people to help diagnose our next inevitable drivetrain malfunctions together. Appreciate you all! 🤝
Currently only getting about 12fps at the roundabouts. Will upgrading my turbo help with the render distance or am I going to have to delete the DPF to get stable frames?
I'm actually a bit late on this because I've been trying to fix my F20 after hitting a deer. It’s been a bit of a nightmare. We actually have 221 members now. I hope you're all well and safe. Thank you for contributing to r/BMWF20.
Idk what I could’ve done differently but still feel pretty bad about killing the deer. I wanna try and fix it and keep driving it but I’m not even sure on the extent of the damage is. I’m based in the UK and am probably gonna fix it out of pocket.
I’m pretty good with my hands mechanically but it’s not great.
My f20 started throwing a fuel temperature sensor short to ground code so I had a look at my DDE and it was swimming in diesel.
After £132 for a new line with the integrated sensor, a lot of electrical contact cleaner & blasting the harness and look with air, I also had to brush the DDE plug pins to get contamination from the diesel of the pins. I think I caught it pretty early so managed to save the DDE & wiring harness. Only light pooling on less than 1/4 of the harness plug.
All fixed and out of limp mode, but beware of this crap design flaw. The seal on the fuel temperature sensor fails and via capillary action starts to wake up the copper wiring back to the DDE allegedly there’s been a TSB and the part is now potted to prevent the diesel from going all the way back up the loom and drowning the DDE but it was some scary stuff.
Had a some time to do some mods over the weekend. I drilled my air box below the air filter to get some more induction sounds and deeper sound. For a free mod it’s okay but will probably do a cone filter and proper box in due time but for now it’s okay. You can hear the turbo surge but no whine with the air filter blocking the sound.
I did a stage 1 + DPF delete and this by far makes the car more usable for daily driving. Economy seems to be good but I need more time and a lighter right foot to check this out properly. I’ve gone from 114 bhp to 150 bhp and 270 nm to 330nm torque.
What I noticed the most is how much easier to overtake and takes out the constant downshifting when going up a hill or dropping down from 60 mph back to 70 mph.
It’s quick but not fast. It rips from 0-85mph but after that due to it being a 3 cylinder and 1.5 with a tiny turbo it hits its limitations. But for a daily car for commuting it’s much better.
I’d definitely recommend it. The dpf delete adds the turbo whilst without sounding like a tinny shitbox. Sounds purposeful but civilised.
Got a few more things in the pipeline but need more money first.
Thanks for the continued support and engagement! Glad we have a sub that can help each other out!
