Montenegro and Bosnia was much more diverse than I expected
The Black Lake in Zabljak, Northern Montenegro. There is a hike path around the lake, it is very recommended.
Mountains around the path to the Black Lake. Road M14 starts/ends in Zabljak, it’s a beautiful mountain pass - difficult to drive but beautiful to hike.
We went rafting under the Tara bridge, the water is amazingly colorful and crystal clear. One of Europe’s shortest and fastest river brings water to the Tara River - they say it’s so clear that it’s drinkable. I stepped foot in it, it’s freezing cold.
4-5-6. Kotor: Even though the city cannot be seen from the bay, it has been occupied by many different regions and kingdoms throughout time. The diversity can be seen on the architecture, the decoration and their food too.
Cats everywhere. There are many people that place food outside for them, but they don’t belong to anyone.
More cats
Vines to shade from the sun in Herceg Novi. The shade us much needed from the sun, they use vines, kiwi or plum trees over the carports and sheets over the windows.
10-11-12. Shades in different forms - pictured in Budva Old Town. We went to visit early in the morning to avoid crowds, on the evenings it’s full with visitors and some locals, enduring the amount of turists.
- The way between two beaches in Budva. There are amazing many amazing beaches with perfectly blue water, but with tiny stones on the shore and some sea urchins - water shoes are recommended.
14-15. Early morning bird watching tour in Virpazar, at Skadar Lake. Around one third of the lake is located in Albania. Two of the rivers, which bring water to it, can be so filled with water in springtime, that one of them starts to flow backwards, up the hill again.
- View from Our Lady of the Rocks - Perast city didn’t think that 22 churches were enough, so they made an island out of rocks to be able to build a new church on top of it.
17-18. Blagaj Monastery in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A beautiful site with a cave and a river around. Quite different from Montenegro, Bosnia is a muslim country, with the habits of covering the head and drinking turkish tea.
19-20. Kravica Waterfall, also in Bosnia, a protected nature area with amazingly green water. Bosnia has some of the most beautiful rivers I have ever seen. We went swimming in the deep part of the river, it was filled with fish - a fun and cooling experience in the heat.
