Anyone know more information about this historic headstone in our area? (Dr. Henry Perrine, died Aug 7 1840, Indian Key Massacre)

Recently, my fiancé and I have been walking through our local cemetery in Palmyra, NY. We have come across many interesting headstones and stories but this one has been at the top. Neither one of us had heard about this massacre prior and searched while we stood at his headstone.
Apparently, Dr. Henry Perrine was a casualty of the Indian Key Massacres (Florida, US) and his family survived- making their way back to New York. If anyone has any information or insight (outside of Wikipedia) about this event, we’d love to hear it. Thanks!

Who was Dr. Henry Perrine and Family? Indian Key Massacre

My fiancé and I love history and have recently found ourselves walking through our local cemetery- learning about the lives lived before us. We stumbled upon the headstone of Dr. Henry Perrine and his wife in Palmyra, NY. We did a quick google search and learned of the Indian Key Massacre. It seems that his wife and kids escaped but he was a casualty of the attack. Does anyone know more about this massacre or, specifically, Dr. Perrine? Sounds like a fascinating history that we happened upon in our small town.

The struggle is real on this one (500 piece, Mindbogglers gold, Sunflowers by Van Gogh). Has anyone else done this one? My fiance and I would love any tips or advice!
