Beard waver once back from basic and AIT ?

How hard is it to get ? How long does it take to process. Shaving now but it really irritates my skin.

Paying for massage vs passive stretching session.

Which would you recommend ? Any success stories ? I have back aches, nothing serious but looking for something to help alleviate. Thank you in advance !

I joined the reserves and anxious about basic. Does it work out for most people ?

Just looking for encouragement. I am 35 years old. I work at the VA but joined the reserves in hopes of one day passing the education benefit to my son. I’m overweight but keep a decent level of fitness. I can run the 2 miles in about 21 minutes right now. Some light back pain with abdominal exercises. Much love and respect. Have a great day everyone ! Thank you for all the kindness you have shown so far.

Is tiger balm or bio freeze allowed at basic ?

I get light aches in my back with prolonged running or core exercises. Nothing crazy. But would be nice to have something just in case. Are you allowed to bring tiger balm or bio freeze to basic ?

Currently work for VHA and joined the Army Reserve.

Is my position protected under USERRA to cover my time for basic training and AIT ? Thank you in advance. I appreciate you all for taking the time.

ARMS 2.0 question

Good afternoon. I would like to ask a few questions. Thank you in advance. In short, my tape test was off by .5 inches I believe. I am supposed to ship in September to ARMS. My recruiter said if I can get within requirements my end of August we can go back to MEPS and get remeasured. He also stated, that if I did go, I would stay only until I measured correctly. If early, I would go to the next available basic.

Almost 2 months on Accutane. I wanted to show some progress photos. The first is at my worst, middle a few weeks in, last is today.

Good morning. With every post, I just want to say how thankful I am to be a part of this community. You all have been so inspiring and gave me hope when I didn’t think anything would work for me. I wish you a day or many blessings and reasons to smile. I just wanted to share an update.

At my worst (few months ago). Now 1.5 weeks with Accutane.

Just wanted to express my love and gratitude to everyone on the page. I know this a rough journey. The first thing people see is your face and there is no where to hide. But it will get better ! Have a great day on purpose :)

Officer vs enlisted

Good morning. I recently went to the board for an Army AMEDD position. Unfortunately, I did not get selected. I am working with a non medical recruiter for other career options. As I am 35, I will need a waiver if wanting to pursue becoming an officer. We spoke about potentially joining enlisted which would be an easier process. I have a career that I am happy with. I am not so focused on the monthly pay, as I am VA healthcare and education benefit for my child upon completion. I would also like to find a unit close to home. What are your thoughts ? Would you recommend trying for an officer position first or going enlisted ? I appreciate your time. Have a great day !

Accutane: Has anyone had success ? Would love to hear your experience.

I am getting blood work done to start a 6 month course of Accutane tomorrow. I have seen wonderful before and after pictures online, but wanted to run it by my Brosaceans. Have a blessed day y’all !
