Do you find 7 a lot more difficult than 6

Got Civ 7 a few weeks ago, after playing a little Civ 5 and a ton of Civ 6. Civ 6 can easily beat deity, but struggling with Immortal on 7.

And I don't think it's just from being used to Civ 6, I beat my first Civ 6 game on Immortal handily before going up to deity. Just about to lose my 3rd game (Wa Himiko) unless I can finish Manhattan project to nuke Pachautl (who has 97 science score)

Saw other posts saying recent patches made AI actually stick to and work towards victory paths.

Actually like this! I got 7 in large part bc 6 started getting too easy. Might be time to go down to Sovereign difficulty haha.

1st civ 7 game - not sure how far behind I am vs AI

Recently bought Civ 7, after a few hundred hours of 5 & 6. immediately jumped into a deity game playing Jose rizal. Went in relatively blind, read a strategy guides but mostly figured I’ll learn by playing.

Now on turn 90 in exploration age and not sure if I’m super far behind or if i can catch up to AI being….Civ AI

Going for a culture victory
Was not able to build a single exploration age wonder (and all wonders are now claimed)
Pretty far behind in science and gold yields but I k ie
Population wise my capital is at 29 vs most rival civs at 40+

TIL you can lose Wonders from climate change

I neglected to build flood barriers in my capital since I assumed wonders were safe from climate change since they are still active while flooding. Well it turns out they are not immune to being submerged. RIP to three of Ethiopia’s biggest cultural landmarks.

Where to settle with Ambiorix?

1st time playing gaul, deity. Debating 2 settle locations

  1. plains where cursor is - can get the eureka for coastal city, can build a lot of mines directly srrounding city center and build districts around those. Downlside is not many land tiles

  2. grassland where the warrior replacement is. would be 2 food 1 prod, access to coast for a harbor wherethe fish is, get early sicne with tea and the plains where cursor is I could put a district and get a lot of adjacency bonus

southwest becomes tundra pretty, not visible on screenshot but tundra starts at the southwesternmost tile near the end of river.

Playing Georgia in Dramatic Ages, I am fully expecting to reach a dark age in the classical age so not putting resources into settlers in the ancient age.

Just got a pantheon from kiling barbs, religious settlements is available - should I just take it?

Even though I'll lose the city I could probably just take it back?

World Congress just convened to give everyone the same number of nukes as Pericles (2 standard and 1 thermonuclear device). Not sure if the AIs ever use nukes, but would be fun to see a full-blown nuclear war.

I'm Persia, aiming for a culture or domination victory. 3 Civs are close to a science victory with a completed Mars probe (including my ally Pericles), would be a shame if those Spaceports get blown to bits.

Half the AIs hate me for being a warmonger, the other half are my allies lol.

For my most recent run, I've been placing districts once I unlock in case strategics pop up later, then switching to another production.

I placed a canal in one of my cities, then unlocked Oil. turns out the canal was over oil so the unfinished canal is working the oil. However, whenever I try to switch to production queue back to canal, it won't let me select it.

Can send screenshot if helpful but I play on switch so transferring screenshot to phone/computer is a slight hassle
