36% electricity reduction year over year

Denver, CO. The only change we made was replacing a 32 year old A/C & furnace with a heat pump & backup furnace in December. House set to 74°F in summer. Avg daily temp was 1°F warmer YoY and both year's billing cycle was 29 days (6/1/25-6/30/25 vs 6/2/26-7/1/26 set the same time period despite the screenshot showing different months). House built in 1985, 3,300 sq ft.

I'm truly amazed how much energy we're saving.

Edit: a couple points from the discussion. First, the Cooling Degree Days for the same time period YoY was about 5% warmer, so perhaps the energy savings is closer to 40%.

Certainly replacing a mid 90s high-efficiency air conditioner with a current model would have resulted in considerable energy savings as well. So by no means is 40% solely due to the heat pump. I don't know how much is due to heat pump versus comparable current generation AC.

Sitting on taxiway waiting for a gate for over an hour. Is this normal?

Twice in my last four flights with Frontier we've landed very early, about 20-30 minutes. Our gate was still occupied and we had to wait on the taxiway. But ended up waiting much longer than our scheduled arrival time, spending 60-75 minutes chilling on the taxiway before finally getting to a gate. Once was at DEN, once at DFW. I haven't had this particular experience with other airlines. Is this common with frontier, or just bad luck?

Two years ago today..."Southwest Shares Jump After Activist Fund Buys 11% Stake"

Well, the last two years have certainly been interesting. From an investment perspective, LUV's share price closed at $27.75 on 6/9/24 and $29.70 on 6/10/24, a 7% initial bump. Today it is at $41.20, an overall increase of 48.5% in two years. Not that the investment returns are the most important thing, but it does seem to reinforce the case that had Southwest's management been able to keep the share price higher, the barbarians wouldn't have been at the gates to begin with. Instead, here we are...
