I want to play The Sims 3 again. Where do people usually get it these days?

Hello!

Do you have any tips to prevent save corruption? I've had to restart my save three times already because it eventually breaks completely. Buildings disappear, lots get assigned the wrong venue type (for example, I place a restaurant and later the game thinks it's a park), and all sorts of weird bugs start showing up.

At this point, I'm about to start a fourth save... so I guess I'm a bit of a masochist. 😅

Before I do, I'd like to know every possible precaution I can take to keep my save healthy for as long as possible. I'm even considering starting completely vanilla, with no mods or CC, just to eliminate as many potential issues as I can.

Would you recommend waiting for the next game update before starting, or is it safe to begin now? Any advice, best practices, or things to avoid would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I started a completely new save file and everything was fine at first, but after some time I began getting several problems:

When I entered my Sim's house, the neighboring lots would disappear completely, as if there were no houses there.

Sometimes the neighboring houses would revert to their original versions, as if none of my changes had been saved.

Eventually, when I entered a lot (both residential and community lots), everything would disappear and the lot would be completely empty.

I've already tried two different save files from scratch. One save was with mods and the other was without any mods, but the exact same problem happened in both saves. Do you know what could be causing this?
