With the new Aeroplan SQC system, it seems like it’ll be harder for many people who normally qualify for status to earn it going forward.

Could that actually end up benefiting those who still achieve higher status tiers next year — for example through better upgrade odds, shorter eUpgrade waitlists, and less competition overall because fewer people qualify? Thoughts?
