Sick of the speculations

Anyone else getting sick to death of all the whataboutery and pure speculation ‘Spygate’?

If we’ve done wrong then punish us. Simple as that. Most Saints fans I know have already said that from day one. Nobody’s saying clubs should get away with breaking rules.

But the amount of absolute bollocks being spread around as “fact” is embarrassing now.

One minute you’ve got Boro pages and people online saying Norwich and other clubs are “giving evidence” and all this dramatic shit, then nobody can actually back any of it up.

Then Wednesday Boro fans/support pages were saying “apparently the EFL are announcing the final decision Friday” with people talking like they’ve got insider info. Fast forward 24 hours and the EFL themselves literally come out and say it’s going to an Independent Disciplinary Commission and the hearing will take place on or before Tuesday. So clearly half these people know fuck all and are just throwing things at the wall.

Oh and now there is the WhatsApp audio recording of someone who has insider information and ‘has never been wrong’.

And now the goalposts have shifted as well.

First it was “Boro should be in the final.” Now after the EFL statement it’s suddenly “nah we don’t even want to be in the final, we just don’t want Southampton there.”

Southampton fans are obviously angry and defensive over it all. That’s normal. But some of the behaviour from Boro fans, media accounts and support pages is honestly becoming embarrassing now. Every hour there’s another “hearing this”, “sources saying”, “apparently”, from people acting like they’re involved in the case themselves.

Just wait for the independent decision instead of treating every random rumour online like it’s confirmed fact.

For context, I’m in my 30s and find myself looking back a lot at my late teens to early 20s.

Seeing friends all the time without needing to plan weeks ahead, random nights out, life feeling a bit more carefree. It’s not even just personal - the UK itself feels quite different compared to c. 10 years ago, no matter on how you look at it.

I know part of it is just getting older, but it does make me wonder how much has genuinely changed versus how much is nostalgia.

Do others feel the same, or is it just a case of rose-tinted glasses?

For me it has to be electrical salt and pepper mills. Absolutely angers me beyond belief. Just feels completely unnecessary. Don’t get me wrong, for people with arthritis, grip issues or disabilities, I completely understand it and it’s a great thing for them. However, for the average Joe, what’s more satisfying than cracking salt and pepper yourself manually? I keep seeing them more and more in cooking videos, whether that’s on YouTube, Reels or TV and, yes, it boils my piss.

First time flying with British Airways so we’re complete novices.

We’ve got the option to upgrade our daytime flight from LHR to EWR to World Traveller Plus for £286 each. For a daytime flight, is that actually worth it? Or would we be better off just paying £119 each for the extra legroom seats in World Traveller? (See attached photos)

The only thing putting me off World Traveller Plus is that it’s not available at all on the return flight, which is overnight. Feels a bit backwards having the bigger/more comfortable seat on the daytime flight, then going back to standard economy for the night flight when comfort would probably matter more.

What would you do?
