Gorgeous hut to hut with animals and snow peaked mtns, with 9 yo? (Or base for day trips).

I've been perusing the posts here and have some good locations saved. We're looking for some stunning nature and also some fun for hiking with my 9 year old. He has asthma but is also very athletic. Any routes that aren't super crowded you would recommend? Or, we also might do a hut to hut in another country and come to Switzerland for a few days of hiking and beauty, trams to mountain playgrounds, river floats, etc. Not looking to spend a billion dollars. We are low/middle income teaching family. Is that possible or should I stick with less expensive destinations? Does anywhere compare to the beauty of Switzerland?

Also might fly to Milan, hut to hut in Dolomites, and then drive to Switzerland.

Good Dentist near brooklyn?

Moved back to the area recently. Everywhere I call is booked till July. I haven't been in a couple years and might have some real issues. Also have serious dental phobia and usually need about 3 x as much novocaine as they think, and cry during cleanings.

Anyone have someone good and gentle who can help sooner than later? I'm in Ft Greene and willing to travel, but preferably not to Inwood!

I day hiked Washington last summer and was enamoured with Lake of the Couds Hut! I promised myself I'd return w/ my kid this year and stay in the huts. He's active and likes hiking, but we're not serious outdoors people. Which huts are the prettiest? Is there a decent 2-3 night hike that isn't dangerous? I think he definitely could've handled the day trip up Washington. I feel overwhelmed with the planning. Looking for pretty views and maybe some water to dip into.

Considering transferring my kid to a school that uses this (I am also a teacher). It's a stronger school academically, but I'm worried it's a lot less fun. My kid is on/above grade level in reading and math - but his spelling and handwriting are terrible - they need attention (mostly due to lack of effort). Will W&W kill his love of ELA? Is there room for cool projects? He's currently at an IB school which is lots of fun but also way less rigorous and a lot of the kids are low level. Not sure I should keep him somewhere I know he's happy, or put him in the better school where he will be asked to perform at a higher level (which would be good for him).

But, I have seen the EL curric and absolutely hate it. Personally I loved the Lucy Calkins R&W units (while understanding the lack of phonics was a problem). I do NOT believe all these rediculous worksheets and charts and 10 different materials are what the kids need. But, my kid will be interested in the 4th grade modules - he loves survival and myths. But he also needs hands on, meaningful work.

Sorry for rambling...
