I paid $9.34 for this

Usual price fluctuates between $15 and $20 but for $9.34 was a steal lmao
The ratchet is not super cheap either, its more than adequate

Edit: It’s from Aliexpress

Plasma lighters in a woods kit: Genuine backup or gimmick?

My primary fire-starting method is a Bic (I always pack 4), backed up by standard ferro rods and strikers. However, since I always carry a power bank and a solar panel in my loadout, a rechargeable plasma arc lighter theoretically makes sense as a renewable backup.

For those and ONLY for those who have used them in the field: how do they hold up to real-world bushcraft use (humidity, fine tinder, durability), or are they just a gimmick?

Wuben G5 Ti limited edition - utter trash

It took two days for the sharp titanium edge to sever the black wire. Given that the device cannot be stripped down further, it is beyond repair.

I just realised that I’ve spent almost $1500 on Skiff bearings overall

Most of my knives no matter the price are getting skiffs. I just went through my orders on the skiff website and it’s just so depressing.

They’ve never even offered me a discount fml

New User Day - Miguron Koraki II M390

I'm a sucker for classic front flipper only knives and crowned spines.

This is basically a poor man's Shamwari with slightly better handle ergos.

It has been a while since the last time I carried this

I forgot how comfortable it is to use and carry and not just to fidget

Weird phenomenon

Reorganizing my storage today made me realize my collection has a massive "dead zone." Everything I own is either sub-$100, $100–$200, or $600+. I have absolutely nothing in the $200–$600 range.

Even weirder: my absolute favorite knives are all in that $100–$200 bracket, while the sub-$100 stuff does all the heavy lifting as users. The high-end $600+ tier is just sort of sitting there.

Anyone else have a collection that skipped a whole price bracket like this?

What is this?

It is milled Ti body and clip and has this weird button that works like a regular button but has no click to it.

Any ideas?

NLD Loop Gear SK-07

I have no beam shots and fancy graphs and charts because I just got it, but it’s an excellent 18650 thrower with 500m range. Love it.

I love this setup

I’ve literally never used the inline driver with my multi tool, it was just collecting dust, but I have like 4 different EDC bit drivers thar I use all the time for small tasks. Now this one also joins the club.

This is a 3D printed handle, with a magnet inside and 8 magnetic slots for 4mm bits.
