If you could go back in time would you do it for someone you love?

I relive the memories of when me and my ex fiancee got together, even though she isn’t in my life, I would do it over and over again. I have been in relationships before, I knew with her I’d have my heart tethered to.

Anybody else have this deep desire and want? Relationship, a family member, a choice you’ve made or they’ve made which you never wanted to happen?

Even though your ex says they’re done with the relationship, do you have this feeling they will come back?

Maybe history and memories are more important than some hard chapters?

Just watched “Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind” and it’s broken me

First time watching it and like the memories I’m trying to keep hold of it’s creating a painful, horrible feeling.
With the separation of my ex fiancee i keep reliving one memory that’s haunting me, when i first kissed her in the dark and how vulnerable we both were. It’s PAIN, this movie resonates with me so much.
And it’s my ex fiancées favourite movie of all time. I gave it a go and a film like this has never made me cry so heavily.

Mental health therapy is a joke

It’s 9am and I am so drunk I can’t escape this pain, I really wish I had the courage to go through ending it last month. Like what was really stopping me, nobody sees this amount of pain, i got put on another waiting list as i need more urgent therapy. How can i seriously wait to have counselling for them to say i need secondary therapy and be put on another waiting list im so sick of this

I want to put it to bed…

Fiancee and I have recently split up over a month ago now.
She has told I’m not the right person and she wants to move on…

I have this sickening thought that she will be intimate and loving to someone else one day, like romantically and emotionally (ALL OF IT)

It runs through my brain like someone is constantly stabbing me in the head, if she really insists of herself moving on I need to accept this is the reality of her future if she doesn’t see me romantically anymore.

Any advice and any thoughts?
From both sides

I’m so terrified

My heart has been breaking for a long time now.
I’m currently separating from my fiancee and I lost my job with a lot of other stuff in between.

I had a therapy assessment today and they have referred me to secondary therapy because they think I’m too high risk of where my depression is at.

To get specialist Therapy instead of the basic counselling,
To understanding my triggers, traumas and I’m unable to calm myself when I’m suicidal. A lot of self harm and multiple suicide attempts and it becomes too emotionally intense I think the only way out is to hurt myself.

I’m scared I’m doing this alone as I have no family to depend on, I have no friends that would truly be there 100% for me and I’m terrified about the treatment I’m going to get.

These photos were of happy times.

Going to miss my life

Just some photos of me I have to leave behind with separating with my fiancee, I’m learning these memories don’t have to haunt me because I’ll always love her.

Depression is killing me

I was full of light, I was me. M/26

I used to be so kind, passionate, my eyes were filled with love in this world.
I’ve tried help, I’ve tried anti depressants, people say find your purpose, notice things I can and control.
That people are proud of me even if I don’t feel loved that I am loved, I don’t want to be here anymore.
I feel I’m unlovable, just existing with nothing in me to give.
Thearpy doesn’t work.
I tried to kill myself last month and I’m reminded with reminders all over my body. That I’m fundamentally broken,
That I’m so alone, I don’t have family, I was neglected, watched my mother at the age of 12 being physically hit, bruised, drugs around me from an abusive father.
I can’t reach out to friends as I don’t trust.

I just lost a partner too and separated.

People says it gets easier I’ve wanted to die since I was 15, nobody notices, nobody sees the pain.

Struggling bad tonight

I feel so alone and my depression is getting worse,
Ex fiancee just left and I’m remembering every memory, holiday even imagining what our wedding would look like.
I can’t handle this pain, she tells me she still loves me but it’s final, no future with me and I’m not family anymore.

Please someone tell me it gets better, because I have absolutely no one to speak to about problems.

I’m so sad :(

My fiancée ended our relationship

My fiancée ended our relationship but says she still loves me - I need an outside perspective on this as I’m trying to hold myself together.

I’m looking for honest advice, even if it’s difficult to hear. I don’t want people to simply tell me what I want to hear.

My fiancée and I have been together for 3 years and were engaged. I proposed 1 year ago.
For a long time she wore the engagement ring every day, and getting engaged felt like the dream I always wanted ESPECIALLY with this girl.

Let me explain how I met this girl - we first randomly spoke at the age of 14/15 years old and I’ll not get into full detail but it was randomly online we spoke, shared interests and I got her into music when I was young and connect to these things still to this day (listening to lil peep, same humour from memes) and ultimately that led a great connection just from two people without truly knowing the background we both lived in.

I was raised very differently, abusive father figure, none supportive parents, challenging childhood from being bullied.
This led to not making many friends growing up. I felt quite scared to socialise, didn’t do well in school and just wanted to lock myself in my tiny room with a large part of me trying to protect myself from being alone. I had to watch some real nasty stuff as a young boy that I don’t wish on anyone to see which left a lot of pain through my life. I understand this doesn’t define me but it really does make you think differently of people.

Because of this I was too anxious to see her, to bring her into a life surrounded by real abuse, even at that age I knew it wasn’t good what was around me, I eventually stopped talking to her for this reason (yes I’m an idiot) but also I was young too and didn’t really have a thinking brain.

Fast forward many years later after getting out of an abusive relationship I was traveling home and randomly thought of her, yes years later she randomly popped in my head like a memory my brain kept. We started talking and it was natural like it was fate. Bringing my sweetheart back to me.

Love grew and grew and we knew this was it. I was her first boyfriend and her first everything, her family love me, her friends loved me and even and we eventually joined our pets together to create one whole picture. This was it for me. I knew the minute I met her I really did and when you know that feeling you know.

Eventually things slipped in me, became anxious, wanted reassurance a lot of the time and my mental health kept having phases, I knew I needed help but I just couldn’t do it, I became this warm person to hard to handle, that was like a rotation with the back whip of Terrible jobs, challenging mental health and my life became too fragile which made me say the wrong things to her, couldn’t handle conflict because of past trauma and faced the consequences of crying alone, hating myself and self sabotaging because my pain was too big for her to handle and myself to handle.

This cycle would continue after 3 years it was only times during conflict that turned passion to resentment for her, she says I’ve betrayed her and the accumulation of hurt adds up over time (I get it I do) she took the ring off not long ago and says it’s final, she sees no future with me and eventually she will stop loving me, but also a lot of conflict like she will always love me, she won’t ever stop caring and I matter to her enormously even today as I write this.

Trust me I am kind and generous to a lot of people including her, unfortunately she just got to see the parts of me I hated myself for. I am currently in therapy and on anti depressants (sertraline) I have just lost my job due to the depression and having an end date to move out. So much pain that at one point I didn’t see any way out other than you know what. But I’m trying to stay optimistic.

I truly have always loved this girl, I don’t have family to go to because I haven’t seen them in years, I don’t have friends and all I have is my cats that will no longer be there when I have to leave the home.

I truly need advice because she’s my home and I see too many of you redditors say how people grieve a relationship 10-30 years later when all I want is still that future I never had, spend my life with my special love and do all the things my parents never achieved.

I understand my actions, some things I done were wrong you don’t need to tell me this I’ve really felt it most nights and I understand I’m not perfect, I was never harmful or physically abusive, never damaged her image or anything of the such, just emotionally immature, past trauma not handling conflicts and feeling like I’m a stranger in this world that nobody notices. But she noticed me, the most out of anyone.

She still says she has love for me, wants the best for me always but she doesn’t want to talk about the relationship any longer, it’s been over a month now but before that a few days prior to the breakup we were saying how exciting our wedding would be, how in love we always are.

I’m 26M she’s 25F

Just some advice from you lovely people, I’ll take it kindly and I am currently starting thearapy and on meds now just wanted to know can bonds like that, connection and love be permanently gone. As I’m still deeply in love as she wants to move on she says. It’s all conflicting and all difficult to understand. She is guarded and withdrawn from any relationship topic and says “I don’t want to discuss it, over and over again” and I feel like I’m really bombarding her with how I feel. (I know it’s wrong) it’s my brain really not handling this.

I’ll read your responses and I’ll be as open minded as I can be.

We truly do love eachother.
